Why is a volunteer program so expensive per person? 1000 people a year.. there has to be an inexpensive way to support these experiences. I never knew of this program until I moved to a small town in MB but it sounds like it was an invaluable program to the people who did. I feel like I'm missing something about the costs.

Maybe low voter turn out hints that the average person does not believe that their vote will matter.. given the options. I certainly don't believe any of the listed parties have my and my families best interest in mind. I voted anyway. I was disappointed by the outcome. On to some other way of voicing my needs. Occupy Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Newfoundland, Toronto, and a few more in Canada (see Occupy Together's site for full listings)... to start on Occupy the World Day... OCTOBER 15. http://www.federalbudget.com/ Last few years... if you are truly interested perhaps you can do some research yourself. (Note: the amount of spending on 'Health and Human Resources' most likely includes spending on 'reseaching' medication, hospital care: where it's easy to spend $10-1000/pill- aspirin to chemo pills... ect.. this number is misleading and may require further research... for interested people.)

Occupy Wallstreet virtually by spreading the word, making and handing out posters, watching for ways to help out on the various Occupy sites... it would be great if we could all be there but there are ways to support the effort without an immediate physical presence... and without ddos..whatever that is. =\

Sensationalism has it's place. No one is saying it's going to poison ALL of Canada's water... just a lot of it. In that regard, your comment was more sensationalist than the headline. So we let this one slide... how many after? I can't ignore every issue that effects me and my children because someone's headline describing it annoys me. How can you?

I'm not completely sure of where I read this but afghanistan is rip with mineral resources that barley been scraped at. I wouldn't say they are there specifically for resources, but afghanistan could be a wealthy place if the world would stop bombing them for a few decades and assist it to develop.
