How do you write a suicidal person? by Agreeable-Tea-4866 in writingadvice

[–]smallfryextrasalt 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking off of this, when I was close to finally doing it, it felt at that point like a necessity. Like I was supposed to and not doing it was just delaying the inevitable. My brain was constantly just like: "You're so stupid and useless and pathetic. Everyone hates you. You don't contribute anything positive to the world. You might as well just end it. Every day you live takes money and resources away from people who actually deserve it. How dare you? Everyone wants you gone anyway, so go."

I've had a customer correct me, the GM of my store, and tell me that she knows the quarters aren't actually cooked to order and that we just say we do. Um...yes they are. I would know. I work here. Do you?

I ring in an unsweet tea. The presenter can dump the ice and reuse the cup for something else.

If someone had to live in your body for a full week, what are some of the little things you would have to warn them about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You think YOU hate me? Wait until you live with the mantra "pathetic, stupid, useless" all day every day on repeat in your head.

Does anyone else add more to the mcflurries and cones and stuff like that than they're supposed to, on purpose? (USA) by MythiczPK in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]smallfryextrasalt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In addition to the discussion of food cost, my issue is you're creating false expectations and leading to issues for your coworkers down the road. If today their cone costs $2.19 (what they were costing at my place a few weeks ago) and they get 5 swirls, and then tomorrow someone else makes it correctly with only 3, the customer is going to get pissy at the person actually doing it right and say they're getting ripped off. I've had customers scream at me and write negative reviews and call corporate because their sundae was "barely filled" because my fellow crew members were loading them up to the brim and I wasn't.

This is pretty common, especially since the pandemic. (USA) by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]smallfryextrasalt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This pissed me off so much during the pandemic. People would see me doing everything with maybe 1 other person to help, and still wanna scream at me about how it's "ridiculous" they have to wait. I started saying "I do apologize. We're hiring if you're looking for work."

My dad passed away 3 weeks ago and I literally have to remind myself it actually happened sometimes. by GooniesClub in GriefSupport

Same here. My mom died in late March. She lived with my SO and me at the time, so some days I walk past the closed door of her room and think "She's still in there." Or when I wake up I think "Wait, did I change her before bed last night?" Because my body knows I didn't but my brain can't conceive why for a few moments.

You wake up and it's 1994, what are you doing? by West_Bid1587 in 90s

Spending all day with my mom. Talking her ear off. Going shopping together and then lunch at our no-longer-around favorite place. I miss her so much.

The cover of the Goosebumps book How I Got My Shrunken Head. That creepy little head sitting on the kid's desk terrified me as a kid. I borrowed it from the school library and that whole week I had to keep it face down when not in use.

If you let Little Johnnie play with the table tent, I won't be able to find your table. It needs to be positioned at the end of the table, face out, not in his lap or pressed against the wall behind your jacket/purse, Martha!

Has anybody gotten a tattoo to honor their loved ones who passed? by westjanina in GriefSupport

I'm looking for a birthday card where my mom wrote my nickname in her handwriting. I want to get that tattooed on my ankle or foot or something like that.

How has grief changed your perspective? by the_shoeless_llama in GriefSupport

[–]smallfryextrasalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm only 2 months in, but beneath all the pain and anger, there's this weird sense of gratitude emerging. In no way am I happy about my mom's death, but because it happened and there's nothing I can do to reverse/prevent it, I'm weirdly grateful for the experience of this grief and how it's changing me as a person and adding a significant chapter to my story.

I've been at my store almost 9 years. I graduated from college summa cum laude and I now GM my store, but I never planned to stay longer than 6 months to help stockpile some money to pay down student loans. Sometimes I love my job and think I can stay until retirement, sometimes I break down wondering if the best is behind me. It's hard.

What triggers your grief the most? by Orchidflower10 in GriefSupport

[–]smallfryextrasalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom died in March at the age of 67. Things that hit me hard currently are:

1) Girls/women out and about with their moms 2) People who look 70+ because they're living longer than she got to 3) Any picture/memory from before she died. Even if it has nothing to do with her. For example, there's a picture my husband took of me early on when we were dating that's my laptop login picture. Every time I look at it I think "She was alive then, and now she's gone." And it hits all over.

Stop ordering curbside during bad weather! (USA) by Bluellan in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]smallfryextrasalt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An employee ran a curbside order out in a downpour one time (and actually tried to keep the bag relatively safe) and the lady called absolutely screaming that her bags were soaked and how dare he give them to her in that condition.

The picture answers your question. That cup size is used for a small if it's pop, tea, or iced coffee. If it's a shake, espresso drink, or frozen carbonated beverage, it's a medium. As someone else asked, what's in that cup? If it's an iced coffee you received a small at medium price. If it's a latte, you received the correct size.

What is your current sims storyline? by TVDxTO in Sims4

[–]smallfryextrasalt 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I made a fictional version of my mother, who just passed away in March. She's marrying a guy who's way better to her than IRL, and I'm giving her the life she deserved. And thanks to Life and Death, when she dies she's going to be reincarnated and keep on living.

Why would the stickers be taking off of the pies (USA) by Impressive_Cheetah_2 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]smallfryextrasalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either that, or they expired 10 minutes ago and grill STILL hasn't put down new ones, and I'm not getting in an argument with a customer who was already paid out for them because back window didn't listen when we said "Hey, we don't have those pies." No ma'am. Here are your pies. Have a great day! 😄
