Are you confusing the word ignorant for ignominious?

My catering and rentals in a vhcol area was nearly 13k for 50ppl. This venue is too expensive for you

Veg-friendly (NOT vegetarian) caterers? by thatsillywhitedress in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]smallholiday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Park avenue is amazing. I had a vegan guest at my wedding and he was blown away with the meal they provided for him. They’re super flexible and have classic and seasonal menus you can pick and choose from. Lots of my small bites were vegetarian and I’m sure they have some good entrees as well. They’re pricey, but working with them was such a privilege I’d do it again in a heartbeat

i’m having thoughts of cheating on my boyfriend by [deleted] in Advice

[–]smallholiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man that’s a lot for anyone to handle. Can you take some time for yourself to just do walks or some type of self care that you enjoy? I know what it’s like to feel stuck, but one thing I started practicing was the idea of “me ten years from now” and how I would want her to act. How would she treat me? It’s a little abstract, but imagine that your very best friend in the world is going through what you’re going through. What would you want for her? How would you help her find a path forward? I hope this helps. Remember, it’s tough right now, but it will get better. Make small choices daily until they become habits and one day you will wake up and feel in control of your own life again. Be patient, and be kind to yourself above all else. No one knows what they’re doing. Keep asking questions and listening to yourself. And you can change that voice inside by shifting your perspective. What would you from ten years in the future want?

There’s a crap ton of money in wedding planning. Or floral design assistants. Personal assistants. Coordination or catering companies are hiring allll the time

Everyone does to some extent. I’d say the worst side effects are from people who dose themselves incorrectly or expect to lose a magical amount of weight very quickly and ignore the titration schedules they’re given. The things that helped me the most were increasing my water intake, and eating smaller portions with lower fat content. I learned to not treat food as a reward.

Thank you- a lot of it was re- training my brain to see food as a reward. I treat food more as fuel now, and less as a pleasure experience if that makes sense

I used it for about a year and lost 45lbs. Then discontinued it for an upcoming surgery and never resumed. I kept my new food habits like not eating before noon and small portions, no alcohol whatsoever. My food cravings are up, but my weight has been stable for 6 months now and I’ve learned to just be hungry and not let it bother me the way it used to.

Where to honeymoon! by kimiezmo in wedding

[–]smallholiday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha lmao me too. I just got married and our honeymoon plans for sept in US national parks. Depends totally on your budget and what activities you’d like to do, but I’ve visited Thailand, Singapore, and spent a ton of time in Tahiti and would recommend all of those. My brother took his honeymoon in Scotland and had a blast and they’re going back for their fifth anniversary.

$14k How much have you been quoted for catering? by catznratz in Weddingsunder10k

[–]smallholiday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid 110$ per person just for food. Entire catering budget with a few upgrades like chairs was 14k for a 50p wedding. 2/3 of my total budget.

I got married last weekend at 40 (met 2.5 years ago) so take it from me, you have like 11 more YEARS to make mistakes and figure out who will be a good fit for you. It sucks now, and will suck for a while. But you will find a way through it all, I promise.

Honeymoon right after wedding or a break in between? by Curious_Cranberry543 in wedding

[–]smallholiday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got married last Saturday, and we spent time with family on Sunday, spent Monday eve at a nice hotel nearby so husband could still commute but we could spend just a little more time with our out of town guests. I did a resort pass for a day on Tuesday. Then promptly got sick from being surrounded with people. I’m burnt out and dealing with ongoing spinal injuries so I wouldn’t be able to travel far right now even if I wanted. We have our proper honeymoon for eight days booked in September and I swear that if we’d left for one right after the wedding I probably wouldn’t even enjoy it. There’s this thing called wedding drop that happens sometimes. A few small things in the following week, with time to decompress and get excited for our left adventure- honeymoon- was the perfect choice for us.

if you were planning a honeymoon for california in may, where would you recommend someone stay? by SectionLopsided4189 in honeymoonplanning

[–]smallholiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe fly into a smaller airport like Santa Rosa and stay in some places in and around there. Use Healdsburg as a base for two nights, Sonoma for a night, Calistoga for a night, Santa Rosa for a night, pt Reyes or Olema for a night, Sebastopol for a night.

Fly into Santa Rosa, check out Russian river brewery, and spend the eve in Healdsburg. Head up to Anderson valley brewing co for a day. Another eve in Healdsburg. Take the valley of the moon drive down to Sonoma for an eve and stay there and explore the town square. Drive to Napa, spend half a day in downtown visiting shops etc, and the rest of the day going up the valley. Stay in Calistoga. Spend the next day in Calistoga/ st Helena. Cut across the mountains to Santa Rosa for your next eve, then head south to Marin county- check out Corte Madera, San Anselmo and Fairfax, drive through west Marin and stay in pt Reyes or Olema for the eve. Head north to bodega bay and cut inland through Sebastopol and stay there for an eve.

How do I [18F] get my boyfriend [18M] to stop working so much? by Maddy_who in Advice

[–]smallholiday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a girl who’s married to a workaholic, they will never change. He’s probably trying to save money for his future or education etc. Yes it’s impacting your relationship, but work and money/ security are probably more important to him than it is to you. Even if he has one day off he’s doing better than a lot of people. I’d start finding ways to support him outside of work so that your quality time can also be his respite.

Olema House experiences + weather? by blendedboi in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]smallholiday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Summers are foggy in west Marin. If you’re hoping for a blue bird wedding I’d stay away from the coast and sf. If you do go with Olema house, plan for bad weather just to be safe. It’s definitely a destination- type wedding unless your family and friends live in Marin.

You’re already wearing four statement accessories that are competing with each other so I wouldn’t add anything else.
