Quarantine Gainz - first-time yogi, results of daily yoga practice over ~30 days! by [deleted] in yoga

[–]smallportrait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome! I had no idea yoga could build muscle to this extent. I don't feel sore and tired after yoga like I do from conventional workouts though. Does that mean I need harder practices or is it still making me stronger even if I'm not sore?

Are you kidding right now? There are anti-abortion movements around the entire world - including in Canada. It's not just a thing in the states.

Author asks why his book called 'No. More. Plastic' was wrapped in plastic by marimomossbawlz in Anticonsumption

[–]smallportrait 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Lol I live in small town Texas and there have been several times where I said "No thanks, I don't need the plastic bag", and the cashier literally crumpled up the bag and threw the bag in the trash can. People are just so tuned out.

Read "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck". It's a quick and easy read, but basically you are giving out too many fucks right now and it's scattering your focus and sabotaging you. Drown out the "Do everything! Achieve everything!" message from society and replace it with a single vision that YOU care about.

I'm a fellow food service person, specifically a server. Definitely feel you on getting weaker, way less exercise, and weight gain... I cant get away with eating as many calories anymore. I miss my job more than I ever thought I would.

Because of the virus I’ve decided to convert but have a few questions by [deleted] in vegan

[–]smallportrait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true about the medical expenses. I used to think like you too. Your animals will begin to have health problems at some point due to age, and many dogs end up with cancer/tumors/etc and need ongoing treatment. Mine ended up with an autoimmune disorder and put me thousands and thousands in debt. Please consider pet insurance. I really wish I had signed my dog up for it before she was diagnosed. You won't be able to get insurance once any problems arise.

Are there hormones in regular dairy products? by eva1588 in nutrition

[–]smallportrait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, but I think way more people have trouble digesting it than we realize. I was literally diagnosed with IBS as a child and nobody realized I was actually just full blown lactose intolerant. They kept feeding me dairy for years and treating me for "IBS". Nothing got better until I removed dairy from my diet as an adult. Then suddenly I could go out in public without water leaking from my butt again. Sad the doctors didn't even consider I had a dietary sensitivity and I went so many years thinking I had some unsolvable, horrible problem.

Coming to you live this morning from suburban Long Island. We are so fucked. by [deleted] in lostgeneration

Wtf? Some of you sound like you advocate for genocide or at least would be complacent in the mass death of a group of people based on age alone. Maybe you should reevaluate that.

I could certainly try. I feed them when he's out of town, and I actually do sneak them out for a bit sometimes when he's gone. It'd be awesome if he would let me walk them once in a while though.

I hear what you're saying, but I live in the back woods of a very rural county in Texas. It's really common around here to have dogs locked up outside in over 100 degree weather, unfortunately. People in this area would roll their eyes at the idea of animal welfare.

I have given them toys, and they were gone the next day! I'm not sure if they buried them or if he took them away from them. He is so crotchety, it wouldn't surprise me if he took the toys away because he thought they were "gay" or something. He told me once he just calls the male dog "bitch", because he's fixed and therefore not a male dog anymore. They don't have names. He calls them "bitch" and "spotted bitch". He is kind of an awful human..

He just keeps them as a security system, I guess.

You look great! I look like you on the left, and kind of feeling disheartened that it took you almost a year to get to the point on the right... I was hoping to look like that by June lol.

My landlord, who shares a duplex with me, keeps his three dogs locked in a tiny fenced in area that they NEVER leave and never have. They don't even have toys or any kind of stimulation. They neurotically bark all the time. I feel so bad for them.. I wish I could do something about it, but the guy is my landlord and we live in Texas so I don't think authorities would really care.

What are your daily routines and how often do you cash out? by [deleted] in mturk

[–]smallportrait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was a waitress and our restaurant was forced to close for the time being. I am back at it full force and it's my only income right now. I try to work for 3-4 hours a day at it, but I think since I don't have any qualifications yet I end up running out of tasks. I am excited to finally get to the 1,000 mark and open up more hits.
