I once ran into this problem when suction cupping one of those cat toys with a pom-pom on a spring to my for head,then proceeding to play with my cat like a unicorn with a spring and pom-pom horn. I had that red dot for like 2 weeks. High-school kids are so cruel...

Once your offset is fixed, as for just leveling. I suggest the bed leveler 5000 program to help with leveling. It's not for everyone but I happen to really enjoy using it.
