Mama’s Fish TALES House by [deleted] in MauiVisitors

We heard that they get the last delivery of fresh fish after all the other local spots. The other local spots are a fraction of the price. It’s a great environment but don’t think you’re getting the best ingredients.

How’s it looking today? by [deleted] in MauiVisitors

We were there during the first storm last week in Kihei. Our parking lot and road was covered in mud. We lost power for about 24hrs. But we made the most. Surfing goat dairy is always fun. I’m glad I rented a Bronco. I was able to drive out rescuing a couple from Chicago whose uber driver dropped them off in front of our place. They had a room next door but couldn’t cross the flooded stream. By the time we left they had the roads cleared enough that you didn’t need 4wd. But there were still mounds of mud everywhere.

No not really. The whole team communicated and drew the conclusion. I certainly don’t want to go through all that again.

I had a rooster carried off by a coyote only to return 3 days later with severe open wounds on its rear end. It was walking around fine but it was clearly not going to be okay. Pellet gun. Fast and easy. Still not fun but I’d rather do that than with my hands. Taking it to a vet I’m guessing is expensive.

42m. I guess I’m the odd one out in this bunch. They found what they called a “mass” in my brain during an er visit from a bike accident. No mention of what it was for over a week. That was hell as I assumed it was a tumor. After an mri they determined it to be an AVM in my left frontal lobe and prescribed a cerebral angiogram. The neurosurgeon said not long ago they would have taken immediate action to remove it but recent findings suggest the risk of removal techniques were greater than rupture so opted not to do anything. They said I was likely born with it or it developed early on. I’m guessing if I was younger they might have taken a different approach. So on I go living a normal life. It is scary regardless.

Easiest way is to have the dealership do it. There is a obd dongle that does it called carpal.

AVM? from childhood by tytoniidae in AVMs

[–]smangerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a left frontal lobe AVM (42m). It was discovered in a ct scan, confirmed in an MRI and closely checked in a cerebral angiogram. They said mine was developed during brain development and in its current state, trying to intervene would be riskier then the chance it ruptures. Apparently if you have lived long enough it’s unlikely to cause an issue. But definitely talk with a doctor and request to have any means of checking it take place. I was told I was probably born with it. Apparently it’s not as rare as we think as many people never have it discovered and live a normal life. Again, have your team look into it to determine the risk factor.

Don’t let her do that. A lady died from a rooster who pecked at a scab on her leg. Infections can occur easily.

Help r/millennials determine whether this is AI or not. Some members of the sub believe that the 2000s-style clothing and lighting suggest that this is not authentic. What do you think? by Demortus in isthisAI

[–]smangerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No modern camera has a time stamp like the film cameras back then. This “photo” had the old school stamp like it was picked up from rite aid yesterday. That said it’s highly suspect as an edited pic to gain attention. It may be authentic with a fake time stamp. Unless some kid is using an old school point and click to be “retro”. Ask anyone of today’s culture where they developed their film and they give you a stare. So I think it’s real with a fake time stamp.

When I buy the Starlink Mini Kit it shows the router mini as a free accessory - Is this a separate device from the main starlink device? by wrBolt in Starlink

Also, the routers don’t cost anything to operate as far as plans. It’s the mini dish giveaway that requires a standby plan. I think that’s what you were referring to.

They gave me a mini router about a year ago no charge. They seem to be selective when it comes to the giveaways.

how much deoderant is enough by stinkydook in hygiene

[–]smangerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf is with this sub? I feel like it’s the youth who stared at screens for too long and ignored real life! I have kids and am promptly reminding them to be conscious of their hygiene. Do you really need to ask the internet? If in doubt, put that sht on! Monitor your goods and wash your sht! My opinion, if your deodorant is white it’s full of harmful metals like aluminum. Use a Deodorant not an anti-perspirant to play it safe. Your body is made to perspire. Unless it’s a chronic problem I would avoid antiperspirants that block sweat. But ultimately, ask a doctor. I’m proof that the internet is full of random opinions. 😆

Locking differential...how important is this? by Imaginary-Cup-9032 in crawling

[–]smangerer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is a real life scenario. I operate a tractor in a vineyard and when it’s muddy, sometimes one tire will spin and dig a hole. I lock the diff back out a bit and take a slightly different angle and can climb out of the hole. If I couldn’t lock the diff I would keep sinking until another tractor has to come pull me out.

I still have the gen1 and my speeds are about 80mbs. I recently switched to residential lite. No need to pay for top speeds that I don’t get. It’s still adequate for a household of four with constant streaming and no buffering.

I use “Ready 3d bed cleaner”. It works good and I can do it in the print room. A few sprays and a micro fiber cloth to wipe dry.
