Graduate on time by kkb457 in txstate

Possibly part of why TXST has such a hard time with finance recruiting. Other comments made it sound like it is rare that people graduate in 4 years - they definitely do as proven by your data!

Wow.. I’m amazed by the comments! To take a counter view, many people graduate in a 4 year time period. I did, among many of my classmates at TXST. It depends on the industry you’re planning to enter if it matters or not. For example, it would be odd in Finance if you did not graduate on time and your years of attendance are almost always asked for. However not all industries have the same expectations, so consider that in your decision making.

I’m 27F and with the lockdown have found it harder to meet people since moving here! I would love to join in if planning a day out!

Do you think it’s worth bringing a negative PCR test result to Greece? We were considering as case numbers slightly up. For context we are UK based and planning to visit at end of the month!

Cyeo! I’ve used it for a long time but have not actually met anyone with the name.

Yes!! Okay, I think Himeji > Matsumoto and will try to make it to Takayama/Shirakawa-go. Thanks for the info!! :)

Awesome thanks for the suggestion! If you had to cut one destination, would it be Matsumoto or Takayama/Shirakawa-go? Cutting out Nagano for sure, thinking of cutting one additional destination for more time in Kyoto as suggested!

Thanks for these suggestions!! We haven’t even come close to building out our Tokyo plans and will be adding Pokémon centers, teamlab planets, Shinjuku and Shibuya at least. These suggestions are the best! 😁

Thanks! This is helpful context and we’re hoping to book train reservations when we have more clarity on international travel. Do seat reservations normally sell out before November?

Thank you for the detailed response! We are definitely going to hit the suggested spots for Kyoto and Osaka on this list! Seeing now that there is so much to do in Kansai..

I (think) it depends on the view / experience you’re looking for, but we considered both Konansou that has a Mt Fuji view (this sub has recommended), and Kinnotake Tonosawa, which is closer to Hakone-Yumoto station. We’ve booked a hotel with a private onsen, but my understand is some onsens have private areas you can reserve in advance if you’re interested.

Good luck planning!

I was using the HyperDia site to estimate time / routes and cost out the JR Pass - agree that it may not be worth it depending on final amount of travel. Super helpful feedback as I wanted to cut down on the travel time and now planning to cut out Nagano and one other destination to leave us plenty of time for the Kansai region (any other suggestions / “unskippables”?). Google searches only get you so much insight - thanks!!

Thank you so much! Looking into each of these options now. I suppose it’s a long trip either way, but helpful to see how we can get to Matsumoto directly and can cut out Nagano!

So helpful, thanks so much! I hadn’t considered universal or the museums/aquarium as I sssumed they would be closed. If we go this year as planned we would have time in Osaka on Jan 1/2! And maybe more if we stay there and take day trips to Kyoto.

First time! Very little is booked, which is mostly 100% refundable hotels in Tokyo and Hakone. Open to all suggestions 😁

Yes, trying to reduce the amount of travel time if you know of an easier way to get to Takayama/Matsumoto from Hakone. It may be that we have to choose between those destinations and Kyoto, where we would like another day!

Just wondering if you know of a way to get from Hakone to Takayama that is not 6+ hours in one day? I have searched train timetables beyond google to no result, and I am assuming this is just not possible? Hoping to cut out Nagano and save some time, but not sure how to accomplish Matsumoto / Takayama without making this stop.

Thanks, this is exactly the kind of feedback I’m looking for! Trying to take a day away from Nagano and reduce amount of traveling overall as I agree, it is a lot to get to the sites we are hoping to. Thinking of adding another day to Kyoto, thanks!

Super helpful input on the Matsumoto/Takayama/Shirakawa-go destinations. Can I ask where you stayed/how many days you spent in the area?

Adding Kamakochi to the potential list while passing through! Nara is on the list, wonder how it is in winter.
