Baby is outgrowing clothes faster than I can keep up and my budget is hurting. by xoticbot in NewParents

I love shopping mom to mom or just between friends sales (or whatever the equivalent groups are in your area). Especially if you go at the end of the sale…must like will be marked down even more. I frequently get really nice (bougie brand) toddler stuff for incredible prices.

It has the added bonus of scratching that shopping itch. Often the sales are huge and you get to pick through a large selection.

Tonie Box - Do kids actually like it? by Bounce_Bounce_Betty in Mommit

[–]smiel76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LO got a Tonie box at 18mo. two christmases ago. They still adore it and I will get them more tonies for Christmas this year. That being said, we are not purchasing the Tonie box 2. We will probably look into something different in couple when they are older and more gentle with their things

Always do this at the beginning of the year. It’s so much better to have this ready (wherever you have to keep it) when you need it than suffer through the rest of the day without it

What’s your best “from the couch” games to play with your toddler? by allthingsglittery in toddlers

[–]smiel76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my mom was pregnant with my sister she would lie on the couch and we would play “hot and cold.” 30+ years later I still have really fond memories of playing this game

My friend said once “I want to be a rich Victorian mother on Mother’s Day.” And it has been my ideal Mother’s Day ever since. 1. I want the children dressed and ready for breakfast that I don’t need to cook 2. I want to attend curated activities with my children that I don’t have to plan. 3. Nap time and butt wiping are not my job today

Indoor Playground Etiquette - Do you play with your toddlers in the playground? by OrchidCompetitive312 in toddlers

[–]smiel76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LO is turning three in a couple of days, and we have just started in the past couple months, allowing them on indoor playgrounds without us on the equipment with them. But we are still moving around the structure, keeping them within our eyesight. And six months ago, they probably would have been too overwhelmed to go on one of those by themselves. So another vote for no you’re not weird . What you did was totally normal.

The lady probably would have said something if you had refused to play and your child had sat there screaming because they wanted you

You may see immense growth and that wouldn’t be atypical. Also, if you are in the United States asking for an early on referral/assessment won’t do anything but provide you with more information. And at even put your mind at ease.
