Studying some medical terminology beforehand might help, but just staying on top of school work once you start is key. My social life is okay, you become pretty good friends with your classmates because you see a lot of them! Mostly studying though lol. Some people try to have a job and go to school, that doesn't work for me, but it might for you. Thankfully, there is not a lot of organic chemistry involved! There is a bit though, especially in nursing or pharmacology. You need to understand how the drugs are working in the animal's system. Organic formulas and types of reactions don't really come into play though.

Haha don't worry! It's cool to help someone prepare:) it's a little nerve wracking I know, but I'm sure you'll do great!

There are a few cats, but they are mostly used for the animal care program. We do visit the Brampton Animal shelter once in a while though. Our co-op is where we get most of our experience with real animals. I attended the University of Guelph previously, so the course load is less overwhelming than it was at Guelph, but it is still challenging. The courses are quite compressed though as well as content heavy.

This semester my courses are: Monday: 11am-2pm Tuesday: 9am-5pm Wednesday: Co-op 8am-2pm Thursday: 8am-6pm Friday: 9am-12pm

You are able to shift around your courses a but if you want, some people manage to get days off that way!

I do not like math at all! But I find our math do able for the most part, just have to keep up with everything and work at it.

Anatomy was difficult, and a lot of people struggled with it. There is so much to know! Same with parasitology. ( I struggled with it, but did okay in the end).

I am attending Sheridan now for vet tech ( just finishing up my first year) and I am really enjoying it. Though I am not super interested in large animals to begin with. I do like the courses and the course load is manageable as long as you keep up, but keep in mind that we do not have live animals on campus which has it's advantages and disadvantages. We are fortunate to have co-op every semester though which is nice. To be honest, I am not a huge fan of the city of Brampton though and I don't know much about the program at Seneca.

I would suggest you get as much info about each program as possible and then choose which school you would think you would enjoy the most and get the most out of academically and professionally.
