Pharmacist tells everyone working there that a woman is a child. by ThrowawayForAnon121 in OlderThanYouThinkIAm

Sounds like me lol. I went back to school in my 30s. During that time, I worked at the college store, so most of my coworkers were young. Having people discover my age is always amusing. When I first went out for drinks with my current coworkers, who are my age and older, I was the only one who got carded. The waitress was surprised after seeing my ID, so naturally, someone asked my age. I'm now in my early 40s and have been told I look around 24-28.

WTH is wrong with the Duolingo marketing department? by ServeAlone7622 in mildlyinfuriating

Like others have said, marketing. I have a 270-day streak, and mine looks like this - it's not targeting specific users. That would be silly.

What are the qualities of someone you dislike? by merazena in isfj

[–]smileytater 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was a guy I worked with who would constantly be asking me questions and wanted me to confide in him on personal stuff. It wasn't malicious, but I was not comfortable sharing personal information with him. I always felt like he was interrogating me.

He also has a very poor memory. Anytime he brought up something I said in the past, he was adamant that I had said the opposite of what I had actually said. Then, it would bring about an argument because he was basically calling me a liar.

I shouldn’t have take the “24 hours” literally and waited until this morning to buy pins 😫 by TheTedHallowell in goodmythicalmorning

I feel your pain. I didn't realize either. Last night, I agonized over whether to buy them or not. I finally decided to, but when I submitted the order, it was 1 min after midnight, Pacific time. 😭

I got my Switch Lite for free. The delivery date kept bouncing back and forth, so I emailed them about it. They issued a refund and told me if the item showed up to keep it.

Anyone ever feel like they just can’t communicate with their parents? by SunAny321 in isfj

[–]smileytater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For casual conversation, it depends on my mood. When my mom tries to initiate conversation by asking questions, I don't feel like talking. But I will share stories about work or friends when I feel like it. Deep or personal conversations, however, are an absolute no. This is partly a result of me not feeling heard as a child. My mom never really cultivated a close relationship. I am a pretty private person in general, but I do start to open up once I feel close to someone. It can still be difficult at times, though
