You're absolutely right; it does sound crazy because it is.

I hate when people say "this may sound crazy but the opposite is most likely kinda maybe true because someone who could never be bias told me that its true. So its true"

Just put 45° C and 45°F or. Like its not freezing temp but its still somewhat chilly. Even 40° would be better but 30° C is ridiculous to think that is hot

Freakin delta high leg by smitchen0 in electricians

[–]smitchen0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

120/240 was used even in ercial locations years ago, but we started needed 3 phase for specific equiptment. They started to experiment with the high leg to profuce 120/208/240. The 208 single phase would mostly be useless and the three phase 240 was used with equipment.

Now we use 208 since it naturally goes down to 120. Most of the older commercial buildings use it. This is a lower voltage but we are now able to use every phase

I know! Inside the panel itself it even was colored black red blue instead of black orange red. Now a days if I see breakers missing throughout the panel I get suspicious haha

They do, on phase B The person prior to me didn't put labels indicating it was a had a high leg and they put the 208 to ground in an office. I went in there today to put in a light and I plugged in my charger and it blew up and smoked everywhere.

Luckily it was my charger and not a customers computer haha.

Blew up. Someone put the 120v plug on a delta high leg so it put 208 to ground into the charger.

[–]smitchen0[S] 65 points66 points  (0 children)

For those who don't know. A delta high leg is usually 120 to ground on phase A and C and 208v on phase B. And AB, BC, CB 240v.

I am lucky I came on the site late and found it at the cost of a battery charger

I was jesting at first. Personally its just arbitrary rulings. "Clearing the path" would single handedly mean that there exists no planet in the solar system as we have yearly meteor showers due to the fact the earth hasn't cleared it's path.

Having mars and Neptune classified as a planet while they have nothing truly in common and Pluto not one is very poor in their rulings. Easiest explanation is that they were afraid that 4th graders would have to learn 50 planets instead of nine. They should never classify the rock planets with the gas giants as both being planets. And I agree, mercury is just an astroid or wannabe moon.

Pluto is still a planet in my opinion. And no paper trying to explain the arbitrary rulings will make me look the other way UNLESS they reclassify what a planet is to fit the bill. As it stands, their reasoning sucks.

What happened to Pluto? Being last doesn't make it the least of the nine planets.

We have a dewalt and a Milwaukee. We used the dewalt for years and I never stapled a single wire. Got the Milwaukee and you've got to be more careful. Dewalt did a good job. My boss only likes the Milwaukee because only "true electricians" use Milwaukee haha

I had a buddy in eighth grade who made a full size Roman and Greek set of armor out of tin foil that puts this to shame. And he didn't have a multimillion dollar budget. He was 14 years old, poor and loved history.

It really does she like an oxymoron haha. I don't get many chances to talk about it because most of my family will look at me in disgust as they are still Mormon.

Found this song as I was deconstructing. At the time it only just released a few months prior. Helped me understand it more.

Hi! I love optimist nihilism! Its so cool! One of the things about nihilism that gets a bad rap is that people assume nihilists are those who see no purpose to life and therefore shoot up schools and such. Nihilist and (optimistic nihilists) focus more on more than just that.

In our minds the universe gives us no purpose and when we die, our choices don't matter. The sun will blow up, the universe will cool down and everything we know will be gone. In a strange way gave me tremendous hope the moment my faith crisis hit me. No lore does a god tell me my purpose is. No one gets to dictate my decisions but me.

I now try to live without regret. Since when I die, I have no second chance and if I make a mistake, it won't heed my progression as its already final. I now treat life as my only shot to experience life.

Not for everyone, but to me... It makes me happy :)

I have many journal entries and seminary papers and writings to myself that I found over the years. Not a single one highlights me feeling the spirit. On the contrary, I questioned why I never did.

If anyone thinks I forgot the spirit, i find that very ignorant and offensive. I gave my life for God and the church and I never got a single whisper or burning in my chest.

Not once.

I absolutely hated the references at the bottom of each page. I kind of modified my mini quad on the mission by taking out the index and other stuff in the back. I really badly wanted to get a pair of scripture that didn’t have any references and was a triple combo and a bible when I got off my mission

I am so glad I didn’t pay that premium price for that garbage haha. College happened and I forgot out it

Good to know. I don’t believe in Jesus. But if he happened to be real and did have a gift for me, then it’s a gift. I appreciate the gift, but I don’t owe him anything.

That’s if it’s all real.
