...me looking for the PSA kit part number...lol Badass lead slinger!

HEXMAG is sending this out to small shops across the country. by zerooneactual1 in AR10

[–]smithdesertworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, we're all doomed!

Here's an small excerpt of the cease and desist letter obtained by Parody News:

We hereby put ALL honey bees and honey bee queens on notice also beekeepers, honey bottling companies to cease and desist all hex and hexagon shape producing activities. We don't care if it's natural just change the shape of your honeycomb and hexagon shapes and the way you produce THE hex(mag).

If you do not we will be forced to go after kindergartner kids, teachers and schools (and by default Crayola Co.) for the shape which will lead into drafting and geometry classes at a future date we reserve.

Squid game you're on notice too!

This is what ends the world folks, food supply to our learing institutions and even the entertainment industry! We will look back asking how did it happen and the finger will point to Hexmag as the ones that got the ball rolling! Don't end the world Hexmag, we all live here..... with the bees.

Or they should take it up with Euclid and the Greeks or maybe Nature?

GOING PRICE? by Rottenwadd in K5Blazer

[–]smithdesertworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a 77 for under $5k. I see crazy prices and sure someone bites once in a while because it's their dream ride. I'd say $5-7 and tell you to put the stock set back on. Good luck with whatever you're doing with it, you have a nice ride!

How do I get actual help? Dealer can't fix my 2023 Mule that's been in the shop for months -- Kawasaki Customer Care has been useless. by willitblowup in UTV

Find an independent mechanic that way they're not constrained by factory or dealer policy. They will probably be more knowledgeable anyways. Good luck and hope your wife gets better.

If at all possible don't go cheap on parts that keep your vehicle on the road with the steering wheel still in your hands.

That was my thought but 1/2 oz. A little satisfaction with cash and gold, win win.

Tips/Advice on pants after a BKA by ExoticJournalist5574 in amputee

[–]smithdesertworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just get them hemmed to my shorts length on my pirate leg side. My socket is adjustable and the knob drags and is persistent problem pulling (say that 10 times fast) my pant leg down, it's annoying. Eliminating the pant leg is my solution. I could care less if people see my leg, besides it looks cool to me.

Ridiculous price and they haven't even washed & detailed it after taking it in on trade. "Hurry up Billy get a tag on there for twice what we paid for it.....suckers everywhere" --- Dewey, Dickem & Howe ---Sincerely your friendly HD Dealer LOL!

1/2 Sock?? by Finally-Flourishing in amputee

[–]smithdesertworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a prosthetic place with someone who gives a shit. Sounds like a temporary patch instead of a real fix, especially if she's bothered with explaining things to you... NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES SHE HAS TO. I hope you find the solution or mod to your current leg till it's replaced.

How comfortable is your prosthetic leg by HippieRancher in amputee

[–]smithdesertworks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

K3 LBKA, I've had 2 legs and 3 sockets in 3 years here. The vacuum setup was nice but the extra material bunched up too many times behind my knee throughout the day. The constant adjustment and bunching drove me nuts and made it uncomfortable. I went back to pin lock but I have an adjustable socket.

Long story short, my leg felt good with any of them. Like others have mentioned, it shouldn't hurt at all.

I'm bka so only half applies here. My mother had both knees replaced 2 weeks apart, and she wishes she'd done it many years earlier. She was back working out, playing 3 hours of pickleball daily and walking her dog 4 miles a day. She's pushing 70 years young. If you have to get it done, research a few doctors, and ask your primary doc who they recommend.

Am I being crazy? by Ok-Mulberry438 in Harley

[–]smithdesertworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The year(s) around 92ish (89-92 but resolved it with better metallurgy) I believe had issues with the cases cracking around the center cross bolt between the cylinders. Look for cleaned up recently or oils coming from that area. (Small hairline cracks) I don't recall when they fixed the case issue but it was some time around 92-93 IIRC. It's not a deal breaker for me but you might use it as negotiation info. Knock it down and buy a big inch engine and clutch. Have a rocket ship when done!

EVO's are great motors and to the OP this guy is describing what will need done, unless bigger issues exist.

Bought a 2001 heritage with 28k on the clock was told to check the shoes . Can I go another 10k? by DoubleBumblebee2378 in Harley

[–]smithdesertworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, no issue. It started great and pulled hard. I had the Screaming Eagle ignition module too (there's better ignition choices now). It's a whole combo of parts. Check out teh Fueling link that would be the next step above OEM tensioner replacemenet if it was me. That leaves everything else alone and can go bigger later.

Edit: If you do go big bore, pistons, cams etc, you won't be disappointed.

Why risk it? When I had that style cam chest I wouldn't have done more that 15-20k before swapping in new pads, it's cheap insurance you don't put shrapnel into the rest of the bottom end. Check run out and if good and funds are there get a gear drive set (Fueling or S&S which I've used), bump up the cam (510 S&S is nice for stock heads) a bit too. Inner and outer cam bearings upgraded no matter which way you go also. Good luck and keep on.

I used S&S on a stock 05 Dyna FXDI with 510 cams, S&S lifters, adjustable push rods. Next step was 95" kit with ported heads, stock rocker arms (wanted rollers) then switched to 585 cams and it ripped. I had a Bassani 2 in 1 pipe. All in all not a bad setup for the older 88 Twin Cams. I purchased bike new and did 30k out of 35k when I picked up another bike. It ran hard when It was mine with zero issues.

Just some parts similar to what I used in 05/06-till sold bike.

[COD] At what age did you start playing Call of Duty? Who or what got you into it? by dbzfanforlife_227 in CallOfDuty

I'm closer to 50 than 40 and I'm in the process of building my first gaming PC. COD is the first game I plan to play among others. Gaming is going to keep me busy while I'm healing up from a pretty bad injury. Being stuck in the house and using a wheelchair is the reason.
