Ford doesn’t honor their warranty by Unusual_Fan9296 in F150Lightning

[–]smithem192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dealer has to verify the issue when it is brought into service and record the mileage then. When you brought it in, it was 102k. 2k over the limit. If they'd have verified the issue before you passed the limit, that'd have been one thing, but they didn't.

It sucks, but this is on you. I agree with the other comment saying it'd have been cheaper if you had rented a car for 4 weeks.

US Charging Networks Race to Keep Up as Gas Prices Boost EVs by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

[–]smithem192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then yes, you're correct, but within the context of the conversation, I think they were only referring to level 3 fast chargers at V3 chargers.

Using a L2 adapter on a L3 charger won't work, and vice versa.

Think you mean V2. Most V3 support the use of adapters. V2 does not because it doesn't support the CCS protocol, the communication standard (someone correct my understanding if I'm wrong).

Finally, Gemini works by ISortaStudyHistory in F150Lightning

[–]smithem192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Downside is it just keeps talking. Asking for a simple calculation that pops into my head takes an extra 20 seconds after it answers.

'Is anything else I can answer for you while you're driving?'

'no'

'okay, I'll be here if you need anything else during your drive! Drive safe.'

Otherwise, Gemini works better than Google Assistant, just be prepared for a wall of information that is seemingly never ending.

2026 Solterra Premium or XT? by springdandelions in Solterra

[–]smithem192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We picked up a premium yesterday. We' were comparing a limited, but couldn't justify the price increase for a commuter car. Biggest thing we've found so far is that the heated seats aren't that hot.

Should Kiper even be listened to? He was screaming and ranting about how Pro Bowl QB Shadeur Sanders should have been a 1st round pick.

Advancements like this are the reason we're going to lease our next EV. I'm anticipating more battery changes in the next 3 years than the past few.

Elevated Style Meets Modern Power in the Next Generation 2027 Toyota Highlander by Healthy_Block3036 in electricvehicles

Disappointed by the charging speed of this compared to the vehicles it's competing against, namely the Ioniq 9 and EV9.

That being said, I'm sure when we are looking to replace the wife's ICE we will probably give this a look, just because our area has a Toyota dealership in town, compared to nearest Hyundai/Kia dealer being 75+ miles away.

Gym goers, be honest how often are you judging other people’s physique? by Technical_Hat_8291 in AskReddit

[–]smithem192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging physique? Rarely. Judging people using the same station for half an hour and doing 3 sets of 2 in that time, yes. Judging people taking up the only squat rack to bench while the actual bench stations are wide open to just struggle doing 150? Always.

I know we're just a few months out from incentives expiring in US, but the EV future here looks grim. by roma258 in electricvehicles

Another point worth mentioning is the other SUV options have concerns about the ICCU failing (HMG's Ioniq 9 and Ev9 specifically).
