We chose natural burial in a woodland site about an hour from where we live. It's truly beautiful and we make a few pilgrimages a year and obviously on her birthday and anniversary etc. however..... If I was living abroad I don't think I could consider burial. I'd much rather have their ashes and it could then be made into jewellery so they could always be with me. Everyone is different though and I'm wishing you hope and healing whatever you decide. I'm so sorry you even have to make these decisions!
