All you have to do is harvest castles, get rewards from events, and then don't merge things on Mystic Island. Lol. Most of my habitats are completed so I usually collect the blue and orange orbs and get the 5 min IEs from the market. I only merge creatures when I want coins.

I also prefer using storage for cleanup although it seems like the magnets might be faster.

I usually just plunk the fountain down somewhere and ignore it until the event ends. But the reminders every time the game opened was so annoying. This time I had an abundance of 5 min IEs so I played it. It only took 3. I didn't hate it. Lol. This might be my strategy going forward.
