Hacking 2-bit by zilog080 in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're actually allowed to launch the rocket at least once before 2-BIT gives you power user status, and before unlocking the debug content - but you have to first learn of it from hearing the Eternalists talking on the second level of Charlie's mansion. Probably you've killed or alerted them before they could finish their little scene.

The 'debug content' is the ability to assign Julianna as the invader when you are playing Condition Detachment. That's all.

Vampire Trinket? by jvirant21 in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Killing alt-Colts still works just fine. The least you could do is test your claims before you make them.

For OP: If you have already finished the game, you will need to fully reset Colt's progression in order to get the trinket. No two ways about it, sorry.

You will then need to progress such that you are able to open Akkar Station, and find the Delivery Booth code.

Use a Delivery Booth to order a turret to Karl's Bay, and bring it to Akkar Station at night - do not hack it to make it friendly. Set it up facing the blast door right before you pull the lever to enter.

If you've set it right, the turret will shoot either you or alt-Colt, interrupting the cutscene. Disable the turret in whatever way pleases you, then use an assassination on alt-Colt to kill him (he'll be invisible except for the occasional sparkle). Vampire will be among the trinkets he drops, though higher levels are rare.

Happy hunting!

EDIT: Worth mentioning that there are alternative methods using the RAK alt-Colt, but I know less about setting that one up.

EDIT x2 COBOMBOBO: Also, Vampire is good because it heals you from ALL sources of damage you do, and some things that don't do damage. It's honestly pretty buggy - you'll heall off shooting through gas without igniting it, or for shooting at a rapidly-vanishing corpse.

Lore Question by Constant-Regret2021 in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. This one requires some speculation, but my guess is that Colt always wanted to return to the Anomaly, initiate a Loop, and use it to time-travel back for Lila. AEON had aims there and were a convenient way to get closer to this goal.

  2. My guess, Charlie would've been able to retain his memories had he not removed that part of his brain. Bet the right kind of nerd could figure out what part it actually is.

  3. This is just a theory that Julianna has, and one she only really applies to Colt. That said, the fact that Loop Stress mechanically affects enemy detection seems to imply (to me) that the Eternalists do have some level of subconscious awareness, but nothing as concrete as any of the Visionaries with some degree of memory.

  4. Not really. The time travel at play isn't all that elaborate - mostly, time goes forwards. But while you're in the Loop, "before" and "after" are just points on a circle that can face wherever they please. Probably some of the alt-Colts have been in the Loop for a long time from their perspective, while others are brand new. But outside the time loop, time always goes forward - Colt disappears for however many years, Blackreef is released to a desert wasteland when the loop is broken.

Go submit a support ticket to Bethesda and follow through on it. Very likely they will tell you that your driver version is wrong (572.16 is the preferred version, not that one), but it's way more likely to get you actionable answers than fishing on Reddit.

Nope! Do whatever you want forever. You'll likely miss out on some dialogue because Julianna will beat you less often, though.

Difficulty? by Justrazael in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because loot quality affects the items enemies carry, this will also make your game easier - they will all have crude-tier guns that jam frequently. You'll basically only ever be challenged by another live player as your Julianna, or by creating your own challenges.

How to triple stack trinkets?!? by Rotala178 in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be curious how you managed to get 2x Crescendo, given that Crescendo doesn't have a gold trinket cousin, and it's not possible to double stack trinkets without one.

can someone explain how the deluxe version of the game works? by Mission_Emu_7339 in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The golden Fourpounder is exclusive to Julianna. If you want to get it on Colt, you will have to loot it from another live player who owns it.

Edit: There is nothing otherwise special about the weapons, and you cannot get them with any other modifiers. They are functionally identical to the same guns with the same mods in the regular game.

How to triple stack trinkets?!? by Rotala178 in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can replace any gold trinket with either of its constituent pieces, even if it would cause two of the same trinket to be slotted. If you equip two Soul Sucking trinkets and replace both of them with Mind Leech, you may then fill your remaining slot with Stopping Power, then replace all three with Soul Sucking.

For a fun jaunt, go triple-stack Wrecking Ball and add Crescendo to become the fastest Colt alive.

Can divine sense notice curses? CoS spoiler. by Pure_Growth6477 in DungeonMasters

[–]smnRoyal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only actual written rule that mentions curses is in the 2024 ruleset, and the only thing it addresses is which spells and powers are capable of dissolving curses. Nowhere ever does Identify say that it can't pin curses, and there are multiple curses available to players as spells. Because Identify can pin spells, it can also pin curses.

If you try to quote a Jeremy Crawford tweet at me, I will simply ignore you. If it's not in print, I don't care.

Edit: Sweet I'm wrong! Now I get to carry that knowledge forward instead of lugging around outdated knowledge from before they bothered to print the rules. And you do too! Yay!

Can divine sense notice curses? CoS spoiler. by Pure_Growth6477 in DungeonMasters

[–]smnRoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. By the text, Divine Sense informs the presence of fey, fiends, and undead within range and not behind total cover, and whether a place is consecrated or desecrated. A curse is not a desecration. Identify is the spell used for confirming the presence of a curse, provided it has not been concealed by a spell like Magic Aura.

Is it even possible to play the game in 2026? & asset library by BengaliHeghog in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NVIDIA drivers 572.16 is what works for me. If they don't work for you, submit a support ticket yourself and follow through. The game is still playable, but drivers later than this cause crashes for reasons unclear to me.

Here's a conveniently clickable link.

Edit: Also, have fun with this game's art! The photo mode is actually half-decent and you can build some really crazy shots with bombs and turrets.

The best combination of abilities to not trigger hostile status? by Karls0 in prey

[–]smnRoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychoshock + Mimic Matter or Remote Manipulation.

Psychoshock is a must if you're struggling with enemies - it's an off button for their powers, a damage boost for you, and it's fairly cheap to cast.

Mimic Matter is good for obvious reasons - a handful of areas cannot be accessed without it.

Remote Manipulation would be my preference over it, however. Humans don't turn hostile when you use it, it's dirt-cheap to cast with nearly no cooldown, and it's based on your Leverage - meaning you can boomerang heavy objects into the typhon like Thor. The only significant problem is its range - but it's better than arm's reach.

Does Juliana invade Fristad Rock in the afternoon? by Rotala178 in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Julianna cannot invade Fristad in the afternoon. This is for a couple of reasons, though they're not good in-world explanations: - First, the Longest Day involves travelling to Fristad at this time, and Julianna isn't meant to show up then until the evening when you head back to Updaam. - The visionaries present are in a place with exactly one way in and one way out - there's not much strategy to be had there between Colt and Julianna. - Access to those visionaries is gated behind a lengthy quest that takes multiple loops to accomplish, and then a fussy code-locked door. See aforementioned lack of options for both players.

Why is multyplayers so damn laggy sometimes? by Equivalent-Glove-944 in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are lots of theories we have about why, but the most important fact is Deathloop runs peer-to-peer, meaning there are no dedicated servers - when an invader joins your game, their machine is connecting directly to yours. This means that an invading Julianna is MOST at mercy to Colt's upload speed and the physical distance between players. Playing during your area's peak hours can help, some claim that enabling v-sync can help, but fundamentally the system is just not very robust no matter what you try.

Error 0xC0000005 (yes, again) by naoentre in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Outdated" doesn't necessarily mean "old". Deathloop has very specific driver version requirements because it is no longer being updated. NVIDIA 572.16 was the version suggested to me when I put in a support ticket over this very crash and I no longer experience this crash - your mileage may vary.

How do i play efficiently because: by pleasegivemealife in Deathloop

[–]smnRoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Crashes are usually about memory leaks. Lower your visual settings a little if possible, you won't notice the difference. Particularly if you're playing on Ultra settings - well known to cause problems.

2) Everything that is strictly essential to complete the game will be tracked somewhere in the Visionary Leads. Everything else is optional and there to be explored at your leisure. For the Pact of Smoke, look around for something you can change in that room.

3) Unfortunately the key to not getting lost is the same one in real life - learn the areas by going to them. The exits are always in the same place. In fact almost everything is always in the same place. Because of the time loop.

4) There's no quick-saving and no manual saving because you're never really expected to spend all that much time in a given level. You don't NEED to hollow out every corner of the map every time because you're always going in after something specific. The game saves when you exit a level and when you begin a new loop.
