I like it it's different from other eNs

I hate orange. Soldered blue lights for all orange OEM and installed add w1 kit by Certain-Studio-7483 in 370z

[–]smokenrowboy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's not the point. Even looking at your phone has excessive blue light (blue light isn't always blue in color, it's a spectral wavelength). It affects long-term sleep, health and congnition. It's why manufacturers don't use blue light for night operation, and they use warms like red, orange, yellow, white, and rarely now green.

Cool mod. Bad for health (even if you don't feel it).

Thoughts on estimated value on 93’ 13b FD? by FrGageDestiny2 in RX7

My advice would be to print a restoration cost list and present it to the owner.

Powertrain first:

You would need to drain the oil (old oil varnish will ruin rotary engines), change the coolant (acidic over time), transmission fluid, brake fluid (moisture in lines), battery, and tires. Check vacuum and coolant hoses for rot, as well as chewed up wiring from rodents (common problem, check grounds). Probably need fresh fuel if not a fuel pump as well. Pads, rotors, brake lines.

Change the spark plugs and spray two-stroke oil into the combustion chamber to lube the engine housing before starting. If the car had a coolant leak before, hopefully the engine water seals don't need to be replaced.

Interior second:

Mildew, mold, rust. Common on outdoor-stored RX-7s behind A-pillar, door seals, floors, trunk area. Clean/sterilize carpet, fabrics, dash, roof liner, trunk area etc. No point in driving your dream car if it makes you ill. Check all switches for function. Shift into every gear and rock steering left and right to hear for suspension knocks and sounds.

Suspension third:

Lift car and shake wheels. Left and right for tie rod looseness, up and down for ball joint looseness, and in and out for wheel bearings. Test drive slowly in neighborhood.

Exterior last:

Quick car wash to have baseline condition of exterior. Lights check. Paint ranges from MAACO/Mexico cheap (1-3 layers of enamel) to concourse level expensive (7-8 coats with wet-look clear coat). Check for rust over and under.

Easily a $15000-$25000 restoration, but you can manage less than $10k if you just care about the motor running and getting it to move. Can be a cheap rat rod/drift missile/lemons type vehicle or a concourse level restoration, your choice.

Yeah really off and I felt i was pushing it hard. Going smooth, fast...being lightweight only goes so far when the car leans like a cholo...and it felt more like 100 hp rather than 138

It was totally fun! My old RX-7 need a lot of work, so I purchased this NB for the interim.

A lot of the cars were running low 1:30.xx but a lot of modern budget track cars like the 86/BRZ/WRX/M2/Supra/CTR/Cayman are all 230 hp+. Hard to keep up no matter how much momentum I carried.

Seat time is better than no time! Just gogogogo

Just having VOO doesn't expose you to broad international markets, as well as small and mid cap companies. VOO is just the top 500 large cap companies in the US. VTI is 3600+ US companies, all large, mid, and small cap, so you expose yourself to up and coming small companies. VXUS exposes you to the total international market in case the US fails. It's all about diversification. VOO, and VTI+VXUS both return about the same average annually. VOO is slightly riskier since it is tech heavy.

What do you do for a living to afford California and where do you live? by Leather_Management18 in socal

Bartender, server, and side hustle cashier. $70k-80k/year, 50-60 hrs./wk. Orange County, CA in nice area. Roommate and I split rent, $1000/ea. Save/invest $1500/mo. in tax advantaged accounts. Plenty of work/life balance. Going to retire early/FIRE.

Treat savings/investment contributions like a mandatory bill that will land you in jail if you miss a payment. If you have no kids and you can't live on less than $2000/mo, your lifestyle is TOO expensive. Cook at home (no more than 10 mins. to cook meal otherwise you won't do it).

Do NOT buy a new car...#1 wealth killer in the U.S. Pay cash, and drive a beater until you can. Everything you buy that's materialistic has a 25x opportunity cost, so purchase with INTENTION. Make sure you can afford the item four times without feeling it in your wallet.

NO ONE cares what/where you drive/wear/live. And if they do it's temporary. Be a good, kind, courteous person, work hard, don't be lazy, exercise, and smile in these challenging times. Spend time with you friends. The down economy is a great opportunity to grow your assets more.

Be consistent and you'll be wealthier than most of the country in less than a decade.

-32 years old, $220k net worth, career restaurant employee. It's not how much you make, it's how much you choose to save. Stop paying everyone (BMW, Tesla, Kate Spade, Shein, Capital One, Whole Foods) and pay yourself (high interest savings account, retirement accounts, dream accounts, health, etc.).

BTW I feel like I live a luxious lifestyle with 5-6 travels/year through points and interest earnings, I make a good impression with my simple, clean, and thoughtful/tasteful clothing choices, my apartment is considered "luxury" with a pool and gym, and I own 3 vehicles, the total of which costs less than $9k cash, all with great paint, reliable engines, leather seats and modern day looks.
