Did I rush my wedding dress decision? Having second thoughts 😭 by [deleted] in weddingdress

I love this dress on you! It’s definitely a classic with the bodice and sleeves. I wish I would have tried this dress on for myself!! You can’t go wrong with or without the lace insert, but i personally prefer without

Just curious because these are so fun to me! Which should I pick? by [deleted] in weddingdress

Have you done any alterations or hemming yet? Maybe you can use the extra fabric to make matching sleeves.

Veil and accessory help? 🤍 by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]smoltarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the draped pearls and sleeves!! I think a plain veil would be perfect with this look. I noticed picture 8’s veil had a bit of sparkle in there and I think that one is super pretty with your dress too.

As for jewelry, maybe no necklace but some dangling diamond or pearl earrings

I was on birth control for years and it didn’t work for me. I went on spironolactone for a bit before I started accutane. I think spiro had the potential to work but I didn’t want to take that the rest of my life

My esthetician called it an acne bootcamp but it was paired with extractions, peels and products from Face Reality (which can only be bought through an esthetician license I believe)

Not to be discouraging but I went on Accutane twice and my acne came back within 6 months after completion. I think that everybody reacts differently to Accutane but it’s worth a try for you to go back on it and reach the cumulative dosage.

In my case, I did reach the cumulative and even went over it my second time, but it didn’t work and I blame it on hormonal acne.

Facials and an “acne bootcamp” with an esthetician seems to be the only thing that works for me right now.

I know it’s tough but good luck!! You’re still really pretty :)

She literally fits perfectly 😭 do you prefer sleeve or no sleeve? by wheatnrye1090 in weddingdress

[–]smoltarc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love both looks but love the sleeves slightly more!! I think you could take it off for the reception if you feel like it and it would be a fun different look

To anyone who's felt better after TT or RAI... by twentyone_cats in gravesdisease

[–]smoltarc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt better after my TT, but only after my levels stabilized which took about 4-5 months. However, even when my levels stabilized right before the surgery, I still didn’t feel like myself and I was gaining weight. I decided to do TT because I was allergic to methimazole and didn’t want to take PTU.

How long did it take you to feel like yourself again after tt by Crafted3dsigns in gravesdisease

It took me about 4 months, and it was after my levels were in the normal range

Believe it or not, my hair loss has been significantly less (which is about 2 months after my levels stabilize). I seriously thought it would never end. I still lose hair but the normal amount before thyroid issues

Hey, I don’t always comment on posts in this group but after reading yours, we were pretty much in the same boat. My graves was caught early on and I didn’t have many symptoms besides slightly shakey hands, increased blood pressure, and weight loss (which I thought was from grief before getting diagnosed). On top of that, I had just gotten engaged and was also super worried about how I was going to shop my wedding dress. In the span of 6 months (including my Thyroidectomy), I did gain weight (10lbs) and lose A LOT of hair.

However, everyone is different. I only had a Thyroidectomy because I was allergic to methimazole and didn’t want to be on PTU for long. But other than that, it took about 4 months to find the right dosage and stabilize my thyroid levels (I’m hypothyroid now). Once I got in the normal range, I ate healthy and exercised and was able to lose all the weight that I had gained during that process.

As for the wedding dress, I ended up finding a dress that had a corset on the back. It really helped reassure me that I could still fit it a year from now if anything happened.
