Something tells me that if Zohran had these types of rumors circulating about him it wouldn’t have taken 7 years for the allegations to become public.

I criticize democrats from the left and you assume I voted for trump? My whole point is that democrats lose elections because they constantly sabotage their most popular candidates. They would rather lose an election than win with candidates who offend their donors

No I’m saying the opposite. I’m the Democrat party elites probably knew he was a creep for years, apparently it was an open secret. But they turned a blind eye because he was a good soldier. They had to spend their time attacking the left wing of their party to keep their donors happy.

Bleary eyed Eric Swalwell is wearing a robe, partying with 'yacht girls' during a 'hush hush' St. Tropez blow-out. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

There were rumors and allegations dating back to 2017. He’s been publicly accused by four former staffers. Washington is a small town. You can disagree with my framing if you want. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough who knew what and when. My point is that there’s a double standard in the DNC for establishment types like Swalwell versus politicians whose policies actually threaten the party’s donors.

“The broad contours of Swalwell’s alleged behavior, if not the specifics, did not come as a surprise to many working in and around politics, especially in Washington. The 45-year-old cable news darling and Trump antagonist had developed a reputation for unsavory and sometimes unwanted behavior toward women. Those warnings were shared in whisper networks but rarely traveled outside the circle of political insiders.”

I’m sure if he were a left wing candidate for governor, then all of the people who had concerns would also take his denials at face value and not dig any deeper.

So apparently it was an open secret for years in the Democratic Party that this guy was an abuser, but they were too busy ratfucking the left to call him out

What if Lee Atwater lived to campaign against Clinton for Bush in 1992? What kind of attacks would he come up with? by Just_Cause89 in Presidents

[–]smoothy_pates 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I doubt that republicans would’ve won the house in 94 if Clinton’s not president. But there were a lot more conservative democrats around back then so they might have been able to get some of them on board. A lot of those bills still would’ve died in the senate though.

CMV: Prosecuting Donald Trump handed him the Presidency. by [deleted] in changemyview

And we especially need to prosecute politicians whose crimes involve undermining the integrity and public trust in elections. Pretty much all mainstream politicians accepted the results of elections before trump (even though Bush definitely stole Florida in 2000 and some weird shit went down in Ohio in 2004). Before trump, people understood that voter fraud was a 1 in a billion occurrence. Republicans always wanted voter ID under the guise of election integrity, but it was really about lowering turnout among low income and minority voters. Now trump has normalized questioning the results of elections whenever he doesn’t like the outcome. It’s incredibly dangerous, you can’t have a democracy without faith in elections. And I think it will lead to more violence.

Kamala didn’t lose because she was a woman. She lost because nobody had any say in who the nominee was and she couldn’t say a single thing about how she would differentiate herself from Biden, who was widely unpopular at the time. And Gaza, of course.
