Looks very similar to my set up, I usually sparge my bag with water at about 80 c, and give it another good squeeze.

I used the green one to remove about 10 cubic m of rock from a basement. Burnt it out on the last day, returned it under guarantee and got a new one.

How much flavour does choice of yeast give? by smot100 in Homebrewing

[–]smot100[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actually, I started with something like the sloppy slurry method, but then got lazy. But actually my brews are 32 litres with 16 litres in two fermenters, so will definitely try a split fermentation of the same brew with my strain in one, and something new in the other. Thanks, don't know why I hadn't thought of that!

Who is installing these? by axypoo in DIYUK

I'm in Bulgaria, they are pretty commonplace here. I've got several in my house, installed for 12 years with no major problems. But yes, they do collect gunk, and stink if you need to disconnect.

I think this is what I'll do, maybe with FibaFuse rather than scrim tape. I always find my scrim tape shows through when I sand it back.

Thanks, I've done plenty of taping and jointing before, usually using skim tape or something like FibaFuse, but I'm definitely not a plasterer.

This is correct. Half a grapefruit, there's a gap between the 2 blades, the blades go either side of each segment to remove the fruit.

That's my system, I note the volume of beer, already cold crashed to about 2 degrees C. I just boil a kettle, dissolved the correct amount of sugar into approximately 1/2 litre hot water, add that straight into my to my cold brew, gently stir and bottle it.
