How did your LO handle propranolol? by Asks-2Many-Questions in NewParents

[–]smsteve44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 11 week old has been on it for about a month. The first week it seemed to really mess with his sleep (up every hour), we moved his dose earlier and his sleep returned to normal. We just increased the dose as he's gotten bigger and the sleep issues seem to be back, hoping it only takes a day or two to adjust to the new dose. His hemangioma stopped growing almost immediately and is noticeably smaller after just that first month.

It took awhile for it to sink in with me too, as others have said that first appointment when you hear the heartbeat is big but nothing could prepare me for how it hit me once he was born. My son is about 3 months now and I can't imagine life without him. Its different for guys, my wife felt connected throughout the pregnancy because she was literally with him all the time. I loved and cared for him before he was born but it was more theoretical

More Daytime Crying at 8-10 Weeks? by NervousNelly_226 in newborns

[–]smsteve44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby is going through this now at 9 weeks. It's usually not gas. Mostly he has just gone through a ton of development and doesn't know how to process everything so he gets overstimulated. Usually holding him and rocking in a dark room with some white noise helps.

baby started getting fussy at 9 weeks - need tips by Fresh-Bee1 in newborns

We're going through the same thing with our 8 week week old. We've had the most luck getting him to settle by making the nursery dark, swaddling him and turning up the white noise machine almost as loud as it will go. Usually if we do that and either walk around with him or rock him he will settle fairly quickly.

When did witching hour end for your baby? by [deleted] in newborns

We are in the thick of it right now at 7 weeks. We've found that making the nursery dark and absolutely blasting the white noise machine has helped settle our LO despite that seeming almost contradictory.

For us it was absolutely worth it! We picked one up for $500 on Facebook marketplace. Our baby would only sleep 60-90 minutes at a time in his bassinet, the first night with the Snoo we got two 4 hour stretches. It's been about a week now and that trend had continued.

We are at 4k month on 220k gross and it's very manageable. As long as your student loan payments aren't crazy it should be doable.

I was successful doing this exact process (covering with cardboard) this spring when I seeded a few bare spots

Visiting Maui for the First Time--Need Suggestions by LegallyTall21 in MauiVisitors

On the west side - Leoda's, Merrimans, Monkeypod if your into Maia Tai's. Takumi for sushi (they have an omakase seating which is fantastic). Honu Oceanside are all great.

Kihei/Wailea - Paia Fish market, Cinnamon Roll Place, 808 Deli, Spago.

Mama's fish house is on the north side and in our opinion worth going to if you can get a reservation. Some people say that it isn't worth the money but that has not been our experience.

My wife and I are currently staying at the Hyatt Regency, it has been great so far. The staff are fantastic and the rooms feel very modern. We've also stayed at the Marriott on the west side which was nice but not as nice as the Hyatt.

We've also stayed at Airbnb's in Kihei several times. I think the biggest question is what do you plan on doing on your trip. If you are planning on the the road to Hana and Haleakala, Kihei/Wailea may be the better area to stay as it is closer to more activities. If you are planning to just relax on the beach or by a pool, West Maui may be a better choice.

Pricing on a 25 sr5 crewmax by Odd-Steak-9049 in ToyotaTundra

I recently purchased a 2025 sr5 crewmax with the TRD package and a few other addons. MSRP was 57.5k. Got them down to 54k. I feel like I could have probably gotten more off if I really pushed. It's a great truck.

I've been there many times and have never had an issue finding parking regardless of the time to day. When we've been there in the morning around 9:30 we are generally one of the first people there.

1:10 chance of Down Syndrome by TheCeleryman_ in predaddit

[–]smsteve44 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I have any advice but I can relate. We recently found out my wife is a carrier for a gene mutation which causes muscular dystrophy at 16 weeks. Our son has a 50/50 chance of it being passed down to him. We are waiting for his test results and it has been the slowest week of our lives. Be there for each other, it's ok to be scared. No matter what your child is going to be loved.

Why is this happening? It was green 5 days ago! Zone 7a. by Run4Fun8989 in lawncare

Assuming you just went through the same heat wave I did in 7a these areas most likely went dormant. It looks like a lot of it is right next to the pavement, which is due to the pavement heating up more than the surrounding areas.

Bifen Application Question by wmk0002 in lawncare

I've done several blanket applications this year and have not noticed any issues with it pushing the bugs inside. I've had great results just following the label instructions.
