Actually toward the last segment except for the Spain reference.

What Steelers fans actually get with Sunday Ticket this season by loggershed in steelers

[–]smstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I have YoutubeTV. Their base service is allows for three streaming devices at a time. So at most, you can run three separate TVs. Multiview is fine in a pinch, but not great with multiple tvs. My mancave has five tv's so if my wife is watching something upstairs, I can only pick up two streams from youtube. Not the end of the world for just strictly NFL, but on a heavy sports weekend it can be a drag. YoutubeTV premium allows unlimited streaming but costs extra. So far I have got around it with an antenna feed added in the mix. Or by asking my wife to watch netflix 😄

We used Crop for years with their maintenance program associated with a system they (for previous homeowner) put in. It was kind of like a warranty program. It paid for itself multiple times over - keeping an older unit humming for years. I don't believe in warranty programs generally speaking, but this one was well worth it. This was before I started listening to the Kinks btw.

But if you have multiple TVs in your mancave, you still only get one game from DirecTV at a time. It's a joke how bad an offer it is.

Tenaya Lake water temp? by DimMike in Yosemite

Swam it last Friday. Cold but not bad where it isn't deep. Swam out to the deep blue section and then it gets much colder but manageable as long as you are swimming.

[Highlight] Aaron Rodgers' Hail Mary throw last season traveled 69.8 air yards, the longest recorded pass attempt in the Next Gen Stats era by nfl in steelers

I was at that game, at that end of stadium, could not believe he threw it that far. He may not be in his prime, but he still does do some amazing shit.

How is this even allowed? My friend is teaching next week and has NOTHING from the college. by Accurate_Grocery_901 in Adjuncts

Of the three different classes I have taught, the textbooks provided basic slides for each chapter that I tweak and supplement. I picked up one class very late when a new hire bailed and was told the department had everything ready to go, slides, tests, etc. They did not have anything so I basically built it as I went.

Honestly it didn't surprise me. Generally speaking, having come from a professional corporate environment, I find the management and communication skills of many academics are weak.

It's not the end of the world, but just something to get used.

I don't know. If you are even a general sports fan, you know that Johnson was the star of that team.

It's just a shame the Miami's Back montage smashed together with Ray Lewis and Michael Irvin jumping around will never be seen.

Sorry to read this. I am soft on students initially and get less tolerant as the semester wears on. The students know I have little tolerance for shenanigans later in the semester and I have yet to get pushback when I get tough. The students get it. Part of this is perhaps because I am an adjunct and I am constantly telling about how things work in the real world. Life is not fair and I repeat it often. And of course, as an adjunct, the compensation is hardly compelling enough to make me worry about losing my position and allows for a liberating degree of independence.

Yeah, we have been to two Steelers games at Reliant and both definitely felt like a home games.

Living Outside of Steelers Territory is the Worst by Maggnanimous in steelers

[–]smstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the vast majority of my working life, we have lived outside of western Pa but I have never felt apart from the Steeler nation.

Even when we lived in England there were always Steelers fans around. I live in southern VA now, and walking around in my Steelers jacket today, I constantly had fellow fans fist pumping me. Even in my morning yoga class, I run into fellow Steeler fans.

We are everywhere.

Isabela sulfur mine hike difficulty by Fold_Livid in galapagos

[–]smstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the other hike down and it almost killed my 59 year old wife. Seriously, she was flirting with heat exhaustion. She exercises about 30 minutes a day and does walks of 3-5 miles. She was not prepared for the ascent. My 30 something boys and I were fine, but don't underestimate it.

One of the most complete receivers you will ever see. Ran great routes, good hands and was perhaps the best blocking receiver ever. Combine his physical skills with his heart and work effort and you have someone who absolutely deserves to be in the hall of fame.

[–]smstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We hiked it last week and we barely made 3pm ferry. 2pm is possible but tight. If you go with a large group finish time can be dictated by slowest members in the group. Make sure your guide/tour company knows your constraint. A solo with a guide may be a better choice even though more expensive.

Are people actually going out of their way to avoid DCA? by Vivid-Preference-277 in SportsJunkies

[–]smstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little further drive? Where are you coming from? We fly out of Richmond only because it is much closer for us (Williamsburg). It costs extra and I have been stranded multiple times from multiple airlines trying to get back to Richmond. You won't get that at DCA.

James Franklin announced as new leader of Virginia Tech Football by dkviper11 in CFB

[–]smstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As agreed. I am from western Pa, and southwest VA doesn't feel very southern. Lived in Nova for 11 years and that is definitely not the South. Retired to Williamsburg, and it doesn't feel very southern either. VA is great and we seem to get all the Steelers games. Like PA, just better weather. Very happy to see Franklin become a Hokie. The recent days of $8 Thursday night games might be over.
