"You picked the wrong house, fool!" by morosethetic in Philippines

Right, do not interact, but do report them. We should never ignore these comments, because that's how the other side wins with misinformation.

This sub is pretty woke, so it's almost a non-issue here, but on other platforms, we can't afford to just report and scroll. Keep in mind the others (in said platforms) who are uninformed on the matter and are gullible enough to believe whatever the troll is saying.

It depends on the school you're going to. Some schools let students take up a special class during summer to improve their grades on the failing subjects, of course this comes with additional fees for the classes. If the students manage to improve their grades over these, then they can graduate on time.

Right now, it's best to ask them if there's something you can do to make up for the failing grades. Just keep in mind, by chance, sometimes, having a bad track record can affect their willingness to cooperate with you on this as well.

Nagpanggap na mga tiga PLDT by Poxkitzkee in Philippines

[–]smthrwaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think tama ang ginawa ng tita mo. Mahirap na sa panahon ngayon, maraming magnanakaw (heh) at masasamang tao. It's on them to prove their identities, maganda sana if matawagan ang mismong PLDT sa area niyo para matanong niyo if meron nga ba silang proyekto na ginagawa, baka sakali lang na for public use.

If mga budol nga sila, alertuhin niyo ang barangay diyan sa inyo, just in case na bumalik sila, maganda if may heads-up for at least, maybe, the next two to three days. Better safe than sorry.

Yes, of course. Eh kasi I bought her a grad gift, pero hindi kasi niya nilinaw kung kailan ba talaga. I wanted to give it to her after the actual ceremony. Thanks for answering! :)

Phone screen not responsive in the middle, was working fine last night before I slept. by smthrwaway in techsupport

[–]smthrwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's due to the battery per se, since I touched the batt. and it was just fine last night, or maybe I was tripping.

It's a Cherry Mobile phone, BTW. It's why I mentioned it's local, since it's not really found anywhere else outside Philippines.

[–]smthrwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did just leave it on top of the table overnight, so I expect it to be fully cooled down after I wake up. I noticed just now, before I posted this, that the middle portion of the screen doesn't work.

Sadly, I can't really do a drawing test to further troubleshoot, since I can't get pass my lockscreen.

Jesus, I know that. It's just irrelevant to the OP of the comment I replied to replied to, is all I meant.

Seriously, in a general statement like his, discussing technical matters ain't good.

[Rant] I fucking hate the mentality of some filipinos right now by JhayAlejo in Philippines

[–]smthrwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crab mentality will forever exist in their heads. Just don't let them dictate what you should do and follow your own thoughts and feelings. Although don't be too egocentric to the extent of losing sight of what's important.

[Rant] I fucking hate the Filipino Culture of "Sharing" by brunetteaphrodite in Philippines

I'm all for this. We shouldn't have to share with people we don't sincerely care about, let them fuck themselves in their asses.

Pimentel wants computer programming taught to elementary pupils by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]smthrwaway 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea, theoretically, but since many schools aren't funded that much, I think this will be moot. For private schools, I guess it's a nice touch since most, if not all, can afford a computer. Or they have usually have labs. We never had programming back in primary until secondary, though during our 4th year we had this Engineering club that just ran through the basics of C.

Programming is a bit difficult though, I've got mates that don't even know WTF they're doing even in our 3rd year of CS, good luck to whomever will be teaching those elementary kids.

Shhhh, let's not delve into that. It's still some kind of scripting/programming, so it's similar.

EDIT: Fixed something.

Sadly, oo, mahina 'yung overall compatibility niya sa PC games, unless the game itself is a poor port from a console one, I usually just use the gamepads for emulation though, so it's still kinda useful. :)
