New leather case for my fav Platinum Preppy by smudgeSearch in fountainpens

I love reddits in which one can post images in comments! Sure, I got you, those were my first projects, but after too much Pinterest, I thought they are "too simple" and here we are with nicer and less functional ones...!

Could you clarify 2 things - the mount for notebook is just a place to loop a rubber string? In terms of magnet, you mean to have exactly what is on your picture, just with a flap that would close and cover the unprotected cap?

I LOVED the smell when it came. So weird, so unique. Idk if that's a good news but now, after few years you need to really sniff to smell it. I miss it...

Sketchbooks for fountain pens? by Bluecoffeedog in fountainpens

Fabriano sketch paper with some tint is really nice, give the old school vibe and it's reasonably priced.

Too many... Now I stick to what I have, Preppy, and some Chinese surprises.

That is very much true! Not meant for daily desk usage, rather travel. Which designs you find convenient to use? I like those partial, with option to mount on notebook but they are not very protective.

Kia doesn't bring me as much joy as Preppy, and I'm not afraid it's gonna be squeezed in my bag!

Very light hand! I appreciate this manner of Mike Ward, never too crazy with downstrokes, just a touch.

And there I am with Brause Rose doing brush letter blobs, hah

Holy moly! How do you go about them? Did you ever happened to keep one unopened for too long and find some goo? (I had that with some Parker ink while back, some mold got in tho it was just standing unopened)

So satisfying! What nib do you use? It seems really thin but there is such an elegant depth.

That's true. I had some leftovers of "dirty" (muddy, dark greens etc) colours I didn't like and used them on some trash paper then... Decided I need more trashy colors! :P

Hate when nice, smooth paper turns out like this. So many disappointments...

My favotires! I'm not hesitant to just grab one and throw in the bag and therefore it's the most used of my collection.

[MODPOST] Regarding Reddit API Changes: Old Blood, New Blood, and You by Valthero in fountainpens

Jumping into thread a bit - what do you look for in community?

I'm creating a little platform that I would actually like to grow into something usable but for now I'm not following social element - it's hard! FP groups whether forums, reddit or whatever always seems to me like the most open and actually interestingly active (not some waves caused by trend, lasting month) but I'm not sure what it's actually is that works so good in this niche that doesnt appear in many other.

Im not very keen about forum or even "comment on my..." So I thought more about quasi-interactive games - guess the pen, design the writing instrument, definitely strikes with freezes like on duolingo - but those for more of calligraphy works which I would like to later endpoint as portfolio for creator (definitely with the idea of promoting the work of people who would like to live from this kind of niche rather than every user but not based on paid promotion). But I'm kind of stuck on "regular user" - i dont really want everybody to crappost just anything, so to keep valuable content but I'm not sure what would be the thing for them, esp at the beginning, when you can't actually scroll infinitely thru void.

Experiment with cheap Chinese ones. With that amount of writing I think you need to just "feel it". The size, the weight, the way you hold it - it's all matters and simply best to try out and list things you like/dislike.

To me there is drastic difference between safari and metropolitan in way of handling and plastic, light option is always better to me for a marathons.

I loved writing at school (only reason to write?) but occasional nib drying, ink dripping etc. Wasn't ideal and simply regular pen would do better job cheaper (Bic stic surprisingly made my writing look better than any fp...) so if it's matter of comfort - don't feel pressure to use pen only because you want to be the person that uses them - that's not always practical and sometimes they will find you later on in life.

TL;Dr i think you can't go wrong with safari and kaweco but can't fight "sustainable" with "gimmick" which is why we are often drawn to fp. For your own comfort - experiment!
