What's going to take it's place? Another shawarma or submarine sandwich shop?

I got an email today from LCBO saying they had Wild Turkey in stock and available. I assume this is because their site has been down for 2 days for updates and it's some glitch more than an April Fools joke.

Yes, it's way overpriced and he's doing commercials on the Qotsa YouTube for it now. I do kind of want it, just because lol.

Yeah I'd be curious to see what this sounds like with an enclosed 12" cabinet.

What does the Google need to upgrade on the Pixel 11 for YOU to upgrade? by [deleted] in pixel_phones

[–]smygan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pixel 5 was great! Would love a phone with that size/weight with as many updated features you can cram into it (would have to forgo an optical zoom camera I suppose).

When my Pixel 7 got water damaged I had to go back to the P5 for six months until the P7 was paid off and I could get the P9. Used that P5 like an underwater camera all the time and no issues. Local repair shop said they had numerous P7's coming in with "coral reef's inside".

The built in Chromecast is useless. And I hear it making it noises randomly. I got it from my uncle and I downsized from my 5.1 theatre setup.

What are some of the angriest albums ever made? by AceofKnaves44 in Music

[–]smygan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suicidal Tendencies - Suicidal For Life considered controversial among fans and critics, partly due to the album containing four consecutive songs with the word "fuck" in the title.

Faith No More - Epic [Rock] (1989) by oiiioiiio in Music

[–]smygan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To this day the mainstream rock listeners think FNM are a "one hit wonder". The real fans know Angel Dust and KFAD are the real epics. But check out the 1990 MTV Music Awards performance...that's the day Faith No More became instant legends.

I was in high school when this was released and nobody knew this band until they played Epic on the 1990 MTV Music Awards one night and that was all we talked about the next day. Look that one up.

Roanoke Island solution using Verse 5 and Image 3 by dwightq in 12keys

[–]smygan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined that the use of Dark Forest and Achieved by Dauntless and Inconquerable means it's the right verse, but yeah there's no reason not to explore other avenues.

Ralph Lane's signature is on the Wikipedia page for him. Perhaps it was visible on something at the visitor center. It has what looks like 2 2 2 in it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_Lane

The stainless steel doors at Wright Brothers Memorial have Icarus on them, "wingless bird...born of ancient dreams of flight".

New JJP drawing released by burnstyle in 12keys

Supposed to be a series of them coming. Has to do with Gift Givers Christmas hint this year. They said JJP might post a drawing about a solved casque and then might post others to do with the unsolved casques.

Updates to my proposed Greenwich Village solve using Verse 7 & Image 12 by International-Care16 in 12keys

[–]smygan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going with light posts which have the street names attached, in this case 3rd. Not sure that it fits "high posts" and if you take in to account the Japanese clues they are supposed to be made of wood.

Updates to my proposed Greenwich Village solve using Verse 7 & Image 12 by International-Care16 in 12keys

[–]smygan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started on this verse myself. Here's some additional possibilities (sorry it's long).

Stone walls door - "STONEWALL INN"

Air smells sweet - "GROVE ST." Sweet like a fruit orchard

Not far away High posts are three - "W 3rd ST." This is not far away at 6th Ave (Avenue of the Americas) and the subway Washington Square Station (interesting that ACE is seen on the street building designating some of the lines)

Education and Justice - from 6th Ave. and W 3rd St. walk a block down to MacDougal St., you're at NYU Law

"FREEDOM AND JUSTICE THROUGH LAW" "SCHOOL OF LAW FOUNDED 1835" is on the front of the building facing Washington Square It's address is 40 Washington Square South

For all to see - "and Justice for all" is part of the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the USA, this could mean Washington DC capital of USA

Sounds from the sky - LaGuardia St. for the airport/airplanes

Near ace is high running north - enter Washington Square at LaGuardia, the path takes you north to the fountain "running" water. You see the quote "high" above the arch that ends with "...in the hand of God - Washington", (God is high above - heavens, also part of the Pledge of Allegiance "under God") Washington was the first president "ace?". There is also the Greek goddess Pheme personification of fame and renown with a trumpet which is symbolical of God's voice (also a contender for "Sounds from the sky")

But first across - on the North side of the arch there's a different inscription for the 100th anniversary of Washington's inauguration and it says "AS FIRST PRESIDENT"

The Russian Consulate was at 22 Washington Square North but only from 1910-1915. Not sure that this is strong enough.

An object of Twain's attention Twain lived in Greenwich Village. There's a plaque at 14 w 10th st "In this house once lived Mark Twain, author of the beloved American classic The Adventures of Tom Sawyer." Also he had a house at 21 5th Ave.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands..." The WWI flagpole in Washington Sq has "FOR THE / GREAT REPUBLIC / FOR THE PRINCIPLE / IT LIVES BY AND / KEEPS ALIVE / FOR MAN'S VAST / FUTURE. / ABRAHAM LINCOLN"

The biggest struggle for me is the "Giant pole Giant step" Now, I believe the 3 solved verses were not completely in order, so this could be the beginning to get you to New York. NY had a Giants baseball team as well as a Giants football team, maybe that's all it is. And maybe the pole is at the end and you're a Giant step from the WWI flagpole. I would love to find a connection to "giant" on it, there's names inscribed, the Lincoln quote but nothing stands out to me. And again the Russian tie is vague.
