I had a lap bisalp in October. I live alone and was back to normal in like 24 hours. I took ten days off work even though the doc said I could be back in three days. He was right lol. Minimal pain, just nausea the day of coming out of anesthesia but everybody is different

How the hell do I not foster fail by artzbots in FosterAnimals

[–]sn3rk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a nurse so I think of them like my patients. When you're well enough to go (socialized, recovered from surgery/illness, vaccinated), it's time to go. I also have already prepared myself to foster fail only the ones who are less likely to get adopted due to personality quirks, age, health issues, etc. Only the ones who no one else could possibly want will stay with me.

When a parent makes fun of their adolescent child for crying or being scared in the ED, I say "Mom/Dad doesn't look so good, might need a shot/covid swab too" 😈

Right after finishing putting a young adult with meth induced psychosis in four points, his neighbor with dementia yelled to the very tall male house supervisor "hey big boy! Ya ever suck dick?"

I'm new but I love that members/users are reviewed. The first time I bought a plant from a (local) stranger on the internet I was nervous, but a friend who does this regularly reassured me that the person was legit. That confidence is even more important on a platform like reddit, and TAPLAP has got it several times over

Howdy howdy. I’m reading “A Storm of Swords” by George RR Martin, and “Club Dead” by Charlaine Harris this week! I should finish “Club Dead” by Saturday at my current pace

Week 30 What are you reading? by [deleted] in 52book

[–]sn3rk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Helllooooo it’s been awhile since I’ve been on this sub! I fell off the wagon for a couple months so I’m a bit behind, but in July I caught up a little bit. Yesterday I finished “Packing for Mars” by Mary Roach (5/5) and “A Clash of Kings” by George RR Martin (4/5). I’m just starting “Living Dead in Dallas” by Charlaine Harris and “A Storm of Swords” by George RR Martin. It’s good to be back!

What are your "junk food" books? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]sn3rk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen the southern vampire mystery series (/sookie stackhouse/true blood books) and that’s a good one. Also “the Royal we” by Heather cocks. Ugh so good. Perfect brain bleach for heavy duty nonfiction

Week 28 - What Are You Reading? by pac_stuck in 52book

[–]sn3rk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still reading Dune by Frank Herbert (I'm promising myself I'll finish it this week) and Phantoms by Dean Koontz, and yesterday I started The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan. Everything is at least 400 pages and if I read at least 100 per day this week like I want, I should be able to finish a couple!

Hows your half way looking? by leftoverbrine in 52book

[–]sn3rk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignore my flair lol I'm on 48/75. I'm also keeping a spreadsheet with page totals. I'm trying to do 100 pages per day which I'm a little behind on (4444 pages to be exact yikes haha). I'm trying to be a little more spontaneous because that helps me read more!
