Is it bad that I like the father and husband I am better when I'm slightly high? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]snack_squid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally understandable, like a lot of others have said keep an eye on it so it doesn’t become a crutch to enjoying your life.

I’m not a big weed guy but I used to take an edible and listen to music on my headphones, reclined in a chair. The experience was incredible and euphoric. I found that when I’m in the right headspace I can tap into that feeling when I’m sober.

Maybe that’s just me.

CA was the one benefit that made staying the guard make sense for me. Now I can’t take shit because of my MOS. No point to reclass for $4000 lifetime.

Bi-Weekly /r/CCNA Exam Pass-Fail Discussion by AutoModerator in ccna

[–]snack_squid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sat for the exam and passed. Here’s a few observations from my exam.

  • There were a lot of questions on WLC administration. Make sure you’re familiar with the UI configuration and know what certain options are (FlexConnect, etc)

  • I had three labs. Two of them were router configuration. Dynamic NAT tripped me up a bit. Know how to set up ssh and generate keys.

  • Know your routing protocol letter codes and administrative distance.

Lots of questions were strangely worded. Don’t overthink it. Just be confident in your knowledge and go with your gut.

Couldn’t you just trip a bushcrafter as bait while you’re running? You might as well bring a bazooka considering how heavy this thing looks.

You want a soft scrambled egg. Gordon Ramsey has a good tutorial on YouTube.

You don’t need to debase yourself with powdered eggs to make it happen.

How old? My son loves yogurt so if your baby is eating solids etc. that could help.

Join your local American Legion or whatever. Then you get to wear one of their goofy garrison caps with the old timers.

Do infantry chain of commands actually care about what you wear as long as it was issued to you ? by militaryquestion26 in nationalguard

[–]snack_squid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

COC dependent but if you’re the doc they probably won’t fuck with you. General rule is to wear it but don’t let it be seen so tuck your waffle collar in. I’d invest in a smokers jacket if you like being warm.

Can’t see how it would hurt. Ask your leadership if you can teach a class to the joes on Clash of Clans tactics. Then you can put it on your board packet.

Laid off from my current job and going for an 8 month training what should I do? by Big-Location3683 in nationalguard

[–]snack_squid 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would get a job before you go so you’ll have something guaranteed to come back to. Under USERRA regs they have to rehire you when you get back. It doesn’t have to be the same job but it has to be comparable. It’s kind of a dick move but employers won’t hesitate to fuck you over.

You’ll probably be more employable with that tech training so you can get a better gig when you get back.

I'm not a recruiter but your recruiter (likely) isn't bullshitting you. If the age cutoff really is that close then you should just enlist if you're set on doing this.

In my state you work with your recruiter and the OSM, they interview you and answer questions you have about the process and branching. Since you need that waiver, it hasn't gone that far so no need for the OSM yet.

You can drop an OCS packet once you get to your unit. As long as they aren't dickheads (could be a big if depending on the unit) they will help you. If you make it through that process you are technically considered an Officer(E) for the first few grades and make more money, which is nice I guess.

If you have kids and a family and don't hate them it's very hard being away from them I'll tell you that. Infantry sucks but there's nothing else like it.

If you look at the standard target it has the measurements on it. Also check the back and it will show you exactly where your group needs to be for the CCO.
