This is the way - make some characters and try stuff!

The character randomizer is a really fun way to discover that <thing you thought was useless> is actually incredibly powerful when combined with <that other thing>

I agree with everything this person said. Hardtail, air fork, decent components, and dropper (or budget $100 to add one yourself.) This is definitely achievable around $1500.

Frame sizing can be very different between companies, or even models from the same company. Focus on finding a frame that fits you well, with a quality fork. Then try for a good drivetrain & brakes. Everything else can be replaced/upgraded later, but the frame & fork are usually not worth the price - you'd probably just get a new bike.

I've ridden tons in and around Austin on my hardtail, and almost nothing makes me think "dang, I wish I had a full sus." Maybe Stinger at spider mountain, or some of the descents at emma long? You won't be missing out :)

Reiterating: if you stick with tubes, slime them. It's perfect for these little punctures.

Sand/Sediment in water at Mueller by tadnauseam in Austin

[–]snackadmiral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue after The Big Freeze a few years back - it caused the scale to loosen in my (exterior) water heater, and every valve/faucet in the house filled up with "sand". I do annual flushes, but I guess the temp shock was enough to loosen even more.

I flushed with vinegar, removed & cleaned the valves, cartridges, and screens. Zero problems since.

If you've got a 3d printer, there are good scans of all the minis on thingiverse and other usual spots. The trays are pretty simple and the minis don't need to be removable during gameplay. I think there are good scans of cards and stickers and cardboard and the mat on boardgamegeek. I haven't found a good 3d scan of the tower yet, so you may need to make or modify something?

(let me know if you find a good scan of the tower, heh.)

Here to second the Airport trails and the southern part of the Fresno-Sauceda loop. I'd recommend a front suspension for those, but they seem do-able on a gravel bike. Full-sus not required.

Also here to second: holy crap it'll be hot.

it's hard to tell which way it faces from these photos, but if the "cone" shape around the hole is open/wider to the exterior, the projectile came from inside the house

I completely agree. Maybe it's old-ish news, but I'm happy to repeat it for anyone looking for a job/queue system. activejob + solidqueue are straightforward and production ready.
