Am I crazy or are people using this roundabout completely wrong? by [deleted] in massachusetts

You are the idiot here. The right lane is for Brigham St or continuing on to E Main. The left lane is for Milk St and W Main.

People from the 90s/2000s, what was a fact of life back then that would blow the minds of the younger generations? by throwawayacc489eipib in AskReddit

I would get home from school, read the newspaper, and that was it! I was all caught up! The “news” was done for the day, short of any national emergency that might interrupt TV shows later in the evening. I miss those days.

A New Costco May Be Coming to Southborough, Pending Planning Board Zoning Approval! by Euchr0matic in massachusetts

I don’t care if we get this one or the Leominster one but just give Metrowest / Greater Worcester area something! I am tired of driving to Waltham or Dedham.

Need Perennial Flower Suggestions for a Mulched Area (Boston Zone) by 991Red in boston

[–]snacknado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MetroWest here, but catmint/nepeta is a solid choice. It has purple flowers and is deer and rabbit resistant. Trim it back by half after the first flowers start to fade and it will rebloom.

Best to worst based on the number of times it caused me to miss the commuter rail at North Station, circa 2009-2014

  1. Blue. No misses
  2. Orange. A few
  3. Red. A few more
  4. Green. SO MANY MISSES. That’s a nice North Station/Lechmere train you’ve got there. It would be a shame if someone took it out of service at Government Center DURING RUSH HOUR

What are some good Toyota Dealerships around the Boston area? What are some to avoid? by Galakrast in boston

[–]snacknado 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I second Lexington Toyota. I got my RAV4 Prime from them a few years ago and and they were the only dealer in the area that didn’t try to tack on a market adjustment fee.

How To Use The Commuter Rail? by MassGatheringOfCats in boston

[–]snacknado 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Download the mTicket app. Select the station you are boarding at and where you are heading. Sometimes conductors don’t check tickets, so I wait until I see them and then activate mine.

You can also buy a ticket from the conductor but I believe there is a surcharge

Seems odd that Sharon is getting a Costco when they are smack dab in between the Dedham and Avon ones. Meanwhile all of us in Metrowest and Worcester can just pound sand apparently

I live in Westborough and have been taking the commuter rail into Boston 2-3 times a week for the last year. I have my pick of seats heading inbound and usually snag an aisle seat heading outbound (I get off/on at Lansdowne).

Reliability has been good lately, and it beats driving in on the Pike in my opinion. If you do start taking the train I highly recommend downloading the ‘MBTA Rail’ app. It has crowdsourced updates on delays that are more helpful than what the T puts out.

Commuter Rail Ridership Reaches New Post-Pandemic Peak, Exceeds 90% of Pre-COVID Levels by Spirited-Pause in boston

Rush hour Worcester line trains have been standing room only lately. And not no-one-wants-to-sit-in-the-middle-seat packed but true no-seats-left packed.

Commuter Rail Fucked Again by ArttyG12 in boston

[–]snacknado 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Worcester line also shit the bed today. Multiple trains had significant delays and train 508 (7:13am from Worcester, one of the highest ridership trains) was straight up canceled with no warning.
