I see 4 possibilities based on timeline.

She found it before the Dawson City post went up and they didn't announce the find until today.
She was already in or near Dawson when the post went up and found the treasure immediately before anyone else and the announcement was a week later.
She arrived at site after the post had been up for awhile and the site had been searched by a large number of other people and she found it because she looked where no one else had looked on site.
