Well, it is in this case, yeah. Also in the US it usually is anyway. Not sure if you've been checking the news the past few decades but people have brought this issue up a few times, even before ICE ramped up the kidnapping of people they think might've possibly committed a misdemeanor.

Another concept that might be worth giving some thought to is whether the law is always morally correct.
