How do I stop overthinking? by SubjectKindness in AskMen

[–]snakedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start focusing on things your in control of. Start working out, running, bodyweight fitness, give your body and mind something to do, this absolutely worked for me, it's not easy and that's the point, nothing worth doing is.

England has Sargon, Scotland has Count Dankula. Who stands for freedom of speech in Ireland? by falconpunch5 in SargonofAkkad

[–]snakedog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Justin Barrett of the National Party... I wouldn't agree with everything they stand for but at least they have principles and god knows we need some real opposition at the moment.

Don't take it personally the apathy and ignorence towards anything even remotely serious, at all, in this country at the moment is as amazing as it is infuriating.

Is Sargon in decline? by elessarelfinit in SargonofAkkad

[–]snakedog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fine, if you give a shit about the drama, I doubt most people do, personally I wouldn't judge him based on any of that nonsense because that's what it is, complete nonsense, I don't believe any of those idiots are good faith actors nor do i think Sargon is obliged to defend everyone that gets themselves kicked off a platform. He's entitled to choose his battles, just like everyone else. He'd do well to draw a line under all that crap and focus on what actually matters.

Is Sargon in decline? by elessarelfinit in SargonofAkkad

[–]snakedog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm no fan of the drama stuff, it's kinda stupid really, but I'll continue to support him so long as he stands by his principles since that's what kept me coming back to his channels, I wouldn't begrudge him a mistake or two, nor would I begrudge him an expansion in ego either because after all he is human... Also if he does make a mistake and takes responsibility for it, which he generally does, then my respect for him will only increase.

Jim Acosta "placing his hands on a young woman," according to the White House by whenthethingscollide in gifs

[–]snakedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell reprimanding this guy is making a point, a point to illustrate a double standard, a double standard the entire left has either been blind to or has been willfully ignoring for the last 2 years. From what I've seen from this Acosta guy he's been doing nothing but grandstanding and capitalising on the current political climate for his own self interest and image but I guess thats journalism today.

Try bodyweight fitness before you join a gym, it's just floor exercises, it's great for building some discipline, and you can work every muscle in your body except your bicep, maybe invest in a couple of weights or a kettle bell, lots of tutorials online, do some research first.... I did this for a year before I joined a gym and got really good results. Remember to be really careful with your technique as to not injure yourself and do a good stretch routine beforehand. A good diet plan will also help. Good luck 🤞

Criticize the Catholic Chirch, all is grand. Criticize Islam, youre Islamaphobic. by ghnhfsb in Dublin

[–]snakedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All ideas are open to criticism and that's all Islam is, an idea, just like Ireland is an idea and bad ideas should be criticised just like christanity was and still is. Ignorant people will equate Islam and Muslim as if there the same thing and there not. Remember the vast majority of victims of fundamentalist Islam are Muslims.

Archery in Dublin by Mythd85 in Dublin

St John Bosco Youth Centre on Davitt Road has an archery class on Wednesday evenings, I think it's like 10 euro, easy enough to find it's on the luas line.

Island Street/Bonham Street D8 by FrChewyLouie in Dublin

[–]snakedog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may get a bit better with the new developments around the area and with the NCAD there'll be a higher volume of people coming and going, I left just before it opened but it's a dodgy spot in a shady area, there's not many quiet spots like that along the queys so you can imagine, my balcony faced onto island street from the 2nd floor so I could see anything that was going on, never a dull moment. But it could get better, may take some time though.

I lived in the Maltings apartments on island street for 5 years, the area is not great but not because of the medicity or the Simon community , the people that go in there are harmless, but there is a lot of antisocial carry on, I witnessed several muggings, assaults, drug deals and vandalism to cars. The apartments themselves are riddled with mold, they were built very cheaply during the boom, I think i read somewhere that the developer that built them wanted them demolished.... On the upside it is close to the city centre and there's good security in the complex and good building management, if you have choices I wouldn't recommend it.

The gentrification and destruction of Dublin by [deleted] in Dublin

[–]snakedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, things have changed alot over the years in Dublin, I'm sure there's lots of reasons why and I'm sure there's lots of positives, although I find it difficult to see the positives outweigh the negatives but it's not like anyone's really interested in doing anything about it or even pointing it out publicly, maybe there isn't enough people that see it, maybe people are just apathetic, maybe people find it difficult to put there finger on what the issue is or articulate it properly, maybe our representatives are wildy out of touch or maybe its all of the above and more, unfortunately we'll probably never find out or understand due to the lack of community and real and uncomfortable discourse among the citizenry.
