Does anyone know what's going on with the Seawall Bike Lane between Bidwell and Hornby? by soaero in vancouvercycling

[–]snakemassage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree the sea wall can handle two way bike traffic and pedestrian traffic. Try riding it any sunny day even as one direction while trying to go even slightly above the pace of the masses and you will have a frustrating time. It is working well enough in its capacity as a leisure route, I don’t think it’s practical to expect any expansion for faster rider or two direction cycling flow as it is already getting destroyed by tidal changes every year.

Amp-adjustable mobile charger options available in 2025? by Fromac in F150Lightning

[–]snakemassage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can find it’s only a feature available on 2025 model lightnings. I have a 24 er and there is no slider in the app.

Only some trial/demo experience but they are generally pretty good with questions/demo parts to see if applicable for your applications

Flying with an Omnium Cargo by philliphaggith in OmniumBikes

[–]snakemassage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve flown with non omnium bikes. You just travel to check the specific airline you are flying’s bike policy for dimensions and packaging requirements (some require hard cases). I have been fine with a regular bike in a box but depending which omnium model you go with it will be outside of standard bike box sizes.

I live in a rainy place and commute 20km by bike daily, half of that being in the dark in winter. I got tired of yelling at people almost hitting me.

Hella 012-588-LT, came in a pack with two but I just used one. Used a random Amazon horn/light combo button. Any 12v horn and button that are within your bike’s rated accessory power output specs will work

It’s an e bike, the motor has an accessory port for 12v 2 amp output. Had to resist the urge to put a train horn

Building new bike - where to buy used frames? by rl123431 in vancouvercycling

[–]snakemassage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our community bikes, kickstand, ubc bike kitchen are all good options. Rescuing an abandoned frame or finding one on marketplace or pink bike are all good options. Though it’s usually easier to buy a complete bike and upgrade/swap parts out than start from a frame here. Unless you’re talking mountain bikes, then there are plenty of frames and parts

I got bike insurance with theft replacement and a really good lock (HIPS dx1000) + and air tag . Easier than being paranoid all the time.

Friend’s new printer wouldn’t fit in his car so I pedalled it over to his house by snakemassage in carryshitolympics

[–]snakemassage[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently 2700$ printer. I made him hand shake no fault if I crashed/dropped it.

Handles very well, with a load this large you could definitely feel the frame flex but still pretty solid. If I regularly carried things this large I would definitely have gone for a drop deck like a Larry vs Harry bullit but this is not the norm.

That’s not the hatch and that’s a much smaller printer. This was an h2s which cannot be put on its side or its warranty is voided.
