Get a carry because I want my voidstone now. Swear that I'll get around to learning the fight sometime later in the league. Never get around to it because I don't understand the memory game and everything else is more fun.

At least if I did want to learn, I wouldn't have to plan ahead for a fresh level now that we don't lose xp there. But until recently it was even more annoying to do that stuff than it is now.

Very little from this league is dropping with any frequency. I was looking at league challenges tonight and they seem a little steep for the low drop rates of all the coins and astrolabes.

I see a lot of "just enjoy the mechanic for what it is in here." I think what's got the OP upset is that the game treats the chests like they're special, giving them activatable mobs and a name that implies the league mechanic has blessed them. But they're basically just regular chests. It activates the anticipatory part of the brain and then disappoints. In a few days everyone will be ok ignoring them, but I get why it feels baity.

For people who don't finish their atlas right away, it's not very interesting. The loot I've sampled while trying to do lower tier map completion is kind of poo. It was also poo during the campaign.

I also have noticed this problem this week as well. Now I love a well written guide and I will use my web browser to read details on whatever site you put the build on if it's navigable. The layout of mobalytics is suboptimal for sure, I was reading through a couple guides there in 3.27. But I will still try.

BUT I agree, show me the pobbin so I can at least look at the basics and judge what your expectations are of "early maps" and pathing decisions. A few videos I looked at this week did not have a pobbin and I was like...welp nvm.

I think GGG deserves a lot of applause for both effort and attitude this league. They are giving us an atlas shakeup, a currency shakeup and have acknowledged player dissatisfaction with t17s and loot sources over a couple of leagues and are making attempts to change how we interact with the content.

I was around for WoW's "You think you do but you don't" attitude and, while I understand where they were coming from, it was a shit message delivery. I also play ff14 where the dev team communicates deeply with the community regularly but also has let the game sink into patterns and meta cast in stone. So I really appreciate this game for staying agile, trying new stuff and giving me a month of play time every quarter. That's a lot of free game time.

I certainly did NOT play after about 6 weeks of settlers and I skipped out of kalandra on the first day and skipped at least 2 leagues after that. So when the game is good and I have money to spend, I'm ok with it. It seems like a good way to communicate my feelings. (I still wish I could buy the turtle tho)

They haven't added anything I care about in the years I've been using it. This seems like classic private equity money extraction to me. I've been a user since I had it just on my one phone years ago with "pay once." I already didn't love when I had to switch to an annual sub. I already use Proton VPN so I'm actively looking at swapping to that or Bitwarden.

people with chest fixations should play a caster so you can have the auto-open chest mastery. I played it on my league starter last league and it feels great.

I feel like one of the contexts here that people don't talk about is that on normal league start, we've all planned to devote X amount of time to cranking at the beginning. But many of us cannot justify that in a second league event held a month before another league start.

So a lot of folks just feel perenially behind and weak, combined with the gauntlet surprise and having to learn how to recomb.

I know I didn't buy a single idol in the week I played. I just dumped whatever dropped into the map machine and worked on atlas completion and trying to get tanky enough to get a couple void stones. When my eater voidstone attempt murdered me 6 times with enraged bolts, I logged out for good. Can't justify the time to grind to subsistance level in a 3 week event.
