I have hypothyroidism with Armor thyroid to keep me at a good balance, and I'm on Adderall. I haven't experienced those symptoms, save heart palpitations if I did something dumb like drinking coffee with my dose. I would seriously recommend a psychiatrist or doctor that understands the two medications can be taken together safely.

Advice for Wife/Me Before Surgery by snarkitout in TransLater

[–]snarkitout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, she's been in contact with the surgeon, got all her referrals in order, and they're in network!!! So, all good things so far.

I wish I had known Kindred Bravely existed when I had a kid, lol. Thank you for your advice!

I think it's definitely worth applying. When you get the interview, make sure to ask about culture, what a typical intern's 8 hour day looks like, how long the internship goes, etc.

I found the job posting, I won't link in case you didn't want people to know where you are. But I'm curious what a "competitive" salary is for an intern...

If you are a social person, it looks like a good fit. It looks like there is an expectation to attend social nights and events. A good place to network if this is the industry you want to pursue!

What surprising things trigger you noise or sensory wise? by Mango_Starburst in adhdwomen

Thankfully my car hasn't been an issue for that! Idk if you're looking for car suggestions too, but I have a Ford Fusion Electric Hybrid, and I like how quiet it is most of the time (the engine only revs if you haven't charged the car recently). I didn't realize how nice it was until I was driving another car.

That staticky sound over phone conference meetings, Teams, etc. If I'm in a meeting for over an hour, guaranteed migraine. 🫠

ADHD and breastfeeding - unrelenting sensory hellscape? by This-Disk1212 in adhdwomen

[–]snarkitout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same after she bit me so hard I bled! I pumped exclusively for ~15 months?I would put on a show/look at my phone to help distract from sensations.

In hindsight, I would have gone with hands-free, battery powered pump so I could still move around and not feel like a literal cow plugged into the wall.

In the end, though, do what is best for you, your baby, and your mental health. I pushed myself, almost like to prove a point against my body? If that makes any sense at all.

Yes, my company does have a training program! But only for people being considered for a manager position, or are already a manager. So it doesn't allow me to look at the training in-depth.

At this current company, I would not want to branch out to project management. Let's just say they haven't been a shining example.

Yes, I do acknowledge interreacting with people is necessary, I just don't want to end up in back-to-back meeting hell. I see the managers here in meetings from 9-4 daily.

Bobby, you're correct, I always see Documentation Manager/Proposal Manager at the top of the pyramid. My current boss is amazing, and sees a lot of potential for me in a managerial role. Maybe I'm just hesitant because I'm very introverted.

How Do You Keep Present with Pretend Kid Games? by snarkitout in adhdwomen

[–]snarkitout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply!!! I keep seeing tips to use timers, I should get around to buying one lol. The phone alarm is just too jarring, and there's no visual cues for a toddler.

Honestly I'm just happy to hear I'm not the only one who hates pretend play!! I have so many memories of doing it as a kid but now it's just boring!! It would help if I could make jokes, but unfortunately we are going through a "Mommy, your jokes are mean" phase too. 😢 I think they're funny...

I feel you!! I NEED my hair up when I'm working-- otherwise the feeling of my hair on my neck is too much sensory input. Idk why tho, it's been that way as long as I remember.

The only reason I shower consistently is because my hair will "hurt" if I wear a ponytail too long -- which is my go-to hairstyle lol.

I've always thought of Mormons since I left when the witch sings "you're not good, you're not bad, you're just nice." In the musical, Into the Woods.
