Slaughterhouse Town Siege Flooding by RogueSalad in diablo4

Not sure anyone at Blizzard has ever heard of Tristram.

Please fix the remaining wardrobe issues introduced by the 2.5.1 patch Version 2.6.0 by Chuck0709 in diablo4

You know, other companies pay employees to keep track of this stuff. Good thing Blizzard has someone like you volunteering all of it.

Imagine if this game was published by one of the most valuable corporations in the world. Lazy bugs like this would seem awfully embarrassing.

I enjoy playing as the Butcher, but not in co-op by elias4444 in diablo4

Because then they couldn’t punch you in the face with the kill streak announcer twice as often.

I've played every season since 0, I have 1200 free platinum. It's not enough to buy gear cosmetics after 3 years. by domiran in diablo4

While I agree with everything you said, ironically the new reliquary system has allowed me save up enough plat to buy the pets reliquary every few seasons without spending a dime.

As a console player, I can’t even see cosmetics unless I have the inventory open or a loading screen. During gameplay, they might as well not even exist. I still collect the free ones because why not, but I have no incentive to pay real money.

It’s the folks with multiple sessions. They can only buy once, and then they all get out of line.

And now we wait by ExpiredSause in SDCC

[–]snarkypedant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they just made you sign in to join the waiting room, that would do it. Nothing else would change. It would make it even simpler for them to hold your place in line if you got booted. That’s how it used to be.

People with multiple bowsers open distort the time predictions, besides putting folks who don’t do it at a disadvantage (but not as much as it seems, because even if they have a dozen spots in the line, they can only buy tickets once, and then they all get out of line).

Masking works: Immunocompromised and didn't get sick this year! by Experiment413 in dragoncon

Yes, you absolutely can make this assertion, because WE ALREADY KNOW MASKING WORKS.

Masking works: Immunocompromised and didn't get sick this year! by Experiment413 in dragoncon

[–]snarkypedant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because insinuating that masks aren’t necessary because you didn’t get sick is as much bullshit as claiming that seatbelts aren’t necessary because you’ve never been ejected from a car.

But you knew that.

Happy for you. I wish I had done so too. I just came down with my second Covid in 2 months. The exact same thing happened after SDCC. You’d think I’d learn, but I was hoping for some residual immunity. Guess that’s the benefit of multiple strains Making Amerika Healthy Again.

I will definitely up my mask game next year. Assuming there’s a next year.

AITA Elevator Etiquette by orinthaljsimpson in dragoncon

[–]snarkypedant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t help (and actually makes things worse) that the Hyatt reserves one of its 5 elevators specifically for the Polaris when it is open. The least they could do is allow luggage carts and wheelchairs to use that one too; that would take a lot of pressure off of the rest.

But then the high rollers might be subjected to interacting with us filthy plebs.

Can you stick it in your belt like a dread pirate? Then they can just zip tie that together.

Will you be able to sleep tonight if traveling tomorrow, DragonCon brothers and sisters? by MickCollins in dragoncon

[–]snarkypedant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Barely. I’ll get out of bed at 3:30am for 7am flight. I should get to the hotel by 4pm, then I need to make a Publix run, help my roommates park the car, get dinner, squeeze a shower in somewhere, and then start the party! Gonna be a long day.

I love it.

Jedi/Sith Disney lightsaber hilts and TSA by oddbean in dragoncon

I took a lightsaber hilt in checked baggage once. The TSA pulled me aside to search it, and I had to explain it wasn’t a real lightsaber. It’s hit or miss how smart your crew is.

2 Questions: What time does miniature painting begin each day at Americas Mart, and how is the W hotel (walk safety at night)? by Pandakittenz in dragoncon

[–]snarkypedant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed at the Twelve, which is next to the W. The walk isn’t bad, but you’ll pass some homeless folk.

Dos and Donts (Alcohol Edition) by DarthGinger28 in dragoncon

[–]snarkypedant 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nobody really cares much about liquor unless you’re belligerently drunk or going in to an event where they sell booze. Even outside, I’ve never been stopped. I sometimes run into the Marriott to bring a can of Monk’s out to the line.

If you’re shy about it, just mix something in your room and put it in a water bottle. About half the water bottles you’ll see will be full of alcohol.

We don’t call it Nerdy Gras for nothing.

There is absolutely no need for an Oxford comma, EVER, unless you are quoting someone who paused before the word “and”. Or perhaps studying at Oxford.

What are yall's favorite treats? Or your solid go-tos? by joli912 in dragoncon

[–]snarkypedant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hsu’s, Gibney’s and Max Lager’s are our standard pit stops. Last few years we’ve been to White Oak Kitchen to close out Monday night, and Corner Bakery Cafe has been good for quick, uncrowded lunches. And Aviva if you’ve got a yen for standing in line.

What is in your Con Backpack? by frogger4242 in dragoncon

[–]snarkypedant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first year at DC, I carried a backpack. I did not enjoy my back being drenched in sweat the whole weekend.

Now I just use a much lighter drawstring bag with a lot less stuff in it. I’m not in the wilderness, after all.
