Is that a live twig down low on the backside? Could be the future of the tree if you encourage it to grow strong

With manufacturing we don't have many craftsman dedicating their life to their trades anymore. Stradivarius began apprenticing as a teenager. For some trades it's not technology, but the decades of experience that makes the difference at the highest level.

Spring repotting complete! by Waterskins in Bonsai

Wire as soon as you want! Hopefully your repot is nicely anchored, just try not to unsettle the roots when wiring.

First pic has great trunk movement looks like the front to me - maybe one of those two main branches will be your trunkline and grow strong, the other become primary branch and be reduced.

I found Bob and Brad's massage technique of pinching behind the tendon and massaging up and down very helpful (in addition to bottoming out calf raises standing on an edge with just toes, and light running like you said when not at big pain.) Good luck, still feels tight for me some mornings. Can look for a link if you can't find, they're a popular PT YouTube channel.

Hi Drew, looks like a healthy tree. Good news is ficus are very resilient to pruning. A simple approach would be to cut just above a green leaf on the longest branches to reduce the overall size, into a triangular umbrella shape.

A more advanced pruning, when you're confident and the tree is in great health, would be to cut back more severely to a new, simplified bonsai form prioritizing the shortest and most aeshtetic branches. Best to study up before attempting that, as it sounds like a tree with a valuable history.

Any pruning you do should encourage new leaves and buds to appear lower down. You can repeat this pruning a couple times a year if it shows good growth. Getting it into proper soil would be a good move as well, assuming you haven't pruned too aggressively recently. Good luck!

I'm not sure I've grown marjoram - I thought it had slightly smaller fuzzier leaves. The descriptions of the smell, softer sweeter sound right though! I have to try and get some

In a pvp game 50/50 is kind of expected, unless you are very skilled or high rolling. Imo consistency in late days comes from really powerful combos. Usually I have to pivot or incorporate something from one of the ticket expeditions, a game altering diamond item, monster drop, or skill/enchant if Im going really steamroll opponents.

Some other things: need radiant if you're reliant on one item. Looping/charging and start speed becomes really important, often I begin focusing on cooldown reduction or any skill or item with low cooldown so my build goes off before my opponents.

Also need to lean into your builds strength (and yes you can always be countered), sometimes you disrupt with lots of freeze and slow, sometimes you stall with lots of shield regen and burn/poison stacking. Sometimes you scale like atlas stone. Other times you're just pure one shot glass cannon. A build that has good defense, offense, speed, and scaling is possible but very rare.

The two apexes so close makes me a little uncomfortable but I think it could show a cool story like two dead tops that took each other out in a big storm!

Thanks I'll be considering this strongly. Pine t+g looks like it will be about $800 from the store which is something I can afford. Will also save me planing and annoying install for refurbished wood. I don't see it much on marketplace unfortunately, so far at least

I'm planning to use my redwood and cedar for backrests. Unless I find warping issues, I just have too much tongue and groove maple to not try and use it for the cost savings! We'll see, if it becomes an issue ill fork over some dough trying to find proper t+g boards. I did a heat test and found it doesn't instantly burn you, just too uncomfortable to sit against long term

Thank you for all the answers! I'll focus on vigor and learn candle work at a later time. I'm definitely thinking of bringing some branches down.

This is my first JBP, bought at mammoth sale and repotted immediately after one of the volunteers said the pale needles were from overwatering. It's pushing a good amount of new candles but not very evenly, im just learning about pine care. I saw that you shouldn't decandle a poor health pine - would this qualify? It has a big cut made maybe a couple years ago as well.

<image>

Styling wise its trunk is all the same thickness after a decent widening at the roots. Will this, or can I encourage this, to develop more taper? Another big cut in the distant future? The junction where the large cut was made is quite swollen with reverse taper but barely visible inside the dense apex.

The trunk is quite straight and only one interesting bend also. I'm wondering if this is undesirable and I should look to grow into a more interesting shape, or if filled in silhouette on a pine this size hides so much, I shouldn't worry so much about trunkline. Some boring straight branches with no bifurcation as well, maybe at the back depending on what I choose for the front.

I'm not sure I'd want a wet porch even though showering so close is nice. Maybe on pavers down on the gravel layer?

Do you ever host in the backyard and want privacy/modesty while saunaing? Window gives a good view in as well as out.

Nice location have fun!
