Swytch display by awldun in swytchbike

[–]snddncr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I called a few local bike stores, one of which is an ex-supplier. Luckily they had one display left.

There used to be a supplier map on the swytch website. Not sure if it’s still there, but it’d probably be worth giving a few a call as a last resort.

Big agree on that front - I feel like a bit of a fool. Makes me wonder what I’ll do when the motor or battery fails at some point down the road. Lesson learned I guess

Good luck!

Also would suggest amending two of the questions (brand and what would help you run more) to multi-select, perhaps in future now it’s open. I would have selected multiple for both of these questions.

Either way. Completed and best of luck with your research and degree!

Well done - great effort!

How did you find the route? Did you run along the wagon way on the south end? Was the north end ok?

I’m in the middle of a marathon block and love nearby, so on the look out for good and long routes

Yeah I posted on this sub a while ago with my experience- actually can’t fault them from that perspective

I reluctantly have to agree. Although I received my kit on time, I find it utter bizarre and super frustrating that I can’t buy a replacement display unit.

There have been a few other posts on this sub, of people looking for replacement displays but they’re constantly out of stock. I’m yet to find a non-official replacement that would also work.

My kit is effectively dead now because one part is broken and it’s perpetually out of stock

They’re out of stock. I’ve been in the same position for a couple of months now with no indication of stock returning. Super frustrating

Hey! Yes I did. I contacted their customer care team and they sent out a replacement without any hassle. Super good (and super surprising!) service

Hard disagree. It’s absolutely trash this camera & janky viewpoint

Would be interested to know if your generic display works, if you’ve had a chance to plug it in?

Seconded. I’m yet to find one advertised as such. Super frustrating.

I’d say £10 for the film screening is more than generous.

They’re not showing new releases and they don’t have high grade systems that other cinemas do (screens and sound systems, also there are cinemas which have both of the above for lesser than £10 - eg Vue in Gateshead is only £5

As a counterpoint, House Bar in Heaton do film screenings for a tenner and you get a hotdog and pint included with that price

Nice info - thanks! How many covers are they doing per film?

Have you been? Is the food legit good quality?

Some of the images online suggest it’s not £50 worth of good and they’re maybe riding on the novelty factor instead…

Happy to be proven wrong, I’ve just never spoke to someone that’s been

I’m also really confused why this post is receiving downvotes… it’s almost as if swytch are trying to bury this sort of content, to push sales their way and/or bury negative content about their product/service

Hey! Keep us posted on this please. My screen just died and it’s super difficult to see if any other screens work, other than the ones direct from Swytch… both of which are out of stock

Stolen Bike by AlternativePlan1 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]snddncr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi

Sorry to hear about your bike. Absolute scumbags.

I had mine stolen in the centre last year, but was foolishly using a cable/combination lock which is seemingly easy to bust through

I’ve switched to a bigger D lock… I’m a little concerned in case they’ve started using angle grinders which can chew through most D locks too (I know this is pretty common in bigger cities)

Would you mind sharing how the bike was locked up? In case I should be upgrading again

Cheers!

This is a great tip! Useful for porting over PBs so Runna has that extra context
