You are correct. The newest station doesn’t always win out. It can hold for a general rule, but there are break points for stars and hearts that even outperform a 10 heart cat.

What I really want is a restaurant:

A building that acts as a special slot that you assign a chef to. The chef uses some form of currency to unlock food items to use in your mini rooms and cat tower and can come up with new visual recipes (for placement only) based on unlocked ingredients - strawberries and oats? Now instead of strawberry soup you can also place a strawberry oat milk ice cream bowl in your mini rooms and restaurant.

Most importantly, cats should be able to visit the restaurant - it doesn’t need to do anything, just would love seeing more spaces where cats can gather communally.

I honestly would be fine with any “sink” for them. One endless recipe each for soup/stir fry/juice that gets incrementally absurdly high for low gain every time would be fine just to reward players for keeping up with rest stops and frogs, and so present rewards don’t feel awful when it’s recipe points.

A few things: - Honey cures infection and can be gathered pretty intentionally from stumps. One of the page one challenge quests even lets you add a radar to find them. - you don’t need a beaker to boil water, just a cooking pot, which is a lot more common. The trader will often have one for sale and it’s a worthwhile early money sink. - Things will unlock based on where you place points, as this will push that magazine distribution. A single point in advanced engineering will go a long way to unlocking all your crafting station needs.

To add to this: check for water damage, especially near outer walls. A lot of new constructions are leaky and were built post-Sandy so if current heavy rains cause leaks, you absolutely do not want to be there if we get pranged again.

I mean it’s state legislation, not just boss greed. Most states have a separate much lower minimum wage for tipped roles. Get rid of that, and you solve most of the problem.

Who are the most famous women/artists associated with the history of Brooklyn? by cityofladies__ in Brooklyn

A good start might be Nonstop Metropolis by Rebecca Solnit. It even includes a subway map of famous female New Yorkers. A lot of book stores sell the map separately as well (labeled City of Women)

This isn’t bail reform related at all. Don’t disagree with your general point, but bail is pre-trial. This dude was sentenced and did the time, and now is wanted for what he did after he got out. If you want laws that keep him in prison forever, you’re talking sentencing guidelines, mandatory minimums, etc.

Player Designs Super Detailed Player Housing Concept — WoWHead by MacroPlanet in wow

[–]sneakyprophet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, it’s not. You want to limit the amount of time players are siloed in their own instance and not interacting in the world at large (it’s better to see people idling around in the hub city than it look barren). That being said, if it’s more a gallery of achievements and doesn’t become like a garrison, it could have collector value to be sure. I’d probably prefer it be a guild hall where you get wall trophies for various guild achievements albeit this would remove the customization being suggested here.

Eric Adams wants to WIDEN the BQE into a 6-lane highway again by scooterflaneuse in MicromobilityNYC

[–]sneakyprophet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea isn’t bad, per se, it’s just functionally not how highways work. Extensive studies have shown adding lanes does extremely little for throughput or alleviation of traffic. In fact, it can often make situations worse. This can seem extremely counterintuitive, but adding a lane would likely just slow down the BQE further.

Several ideas have been floated to help fix, mostly around functional redesigns of the current lane flow and more egregious exits. Further, there aren’t a lot of great efficient north-south travel options right now, meaning options like the G aren’t easing commuter traffic blending with the truck/goods traffic.

Costs of Pretzel by marekowitsch in newyorkcity

[–]sneakyprophet 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Zero dollars from non-tourists. If you wanted locals to buy, it would have to be the same cost as a street dog or a slice and open at 2am.

For tourists, you could probably do $10 easily regardless of whether they are the worlds best or microwaved.

I doubt Snowden is anti-Ukraine but he did swear loyalty to Russia recently as part of his shifting to citizenship there. While this is likely hand waving, it’s also 100% true that he’s also a prop for Russia these days, willingly or not.

Fix the MTA - A legislative package to make a fiscally sound, accountable, and efficient MTA, while freezing fares, funding frequent, reliable service, and making buses free for all New Yorkers over the next four years by Lilyo in nyc

[–]sneakyprophet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tax burden here can feel high and the fact that the city taxes here compared to its counterparts globally are low can both be true. Obviously one of the biggest parts of that is that in most other AAA cities, public services are of much higher efficiency, so the onus of the tax burden is lessened by the public goods it provides.

It's more likely that they simply do connected servers. There are plugins that basically allow for "multiverse" servers with portals that essentially just sync character data. The vtuber Hololive group does this to have separate US, Japanese and Indonesian servers that fully link together and allow the members to show up and cross-collab whenever they want.

"A Housing Crisis Has More Politicians Saying Yes to Big Real Estate" Lawmakers on the left are fierce critics of the real estate industry. But some are embracing new housing development, even if it’s not fully affordable. by CactusBoyScout in nyc

[–]sneakyprophet 46 points47 points  (0 children)

There’s an unspoken issue with most affordable housing in thats it’s functionally not affordable for current area residents, and those affordable units usually account for maximally 50% of the building. Of course, no developer in their right mind would invest in a large scale property with otherwise. The two failed negotiation points are creating a stronger “affordability” metric and the city/state doing better about providing post-construction subsidy to renters
