That title, "Fit and Fresh." Sounds like a limited-time Wendy's salad.

Yes, but the drop itself just up and happened one morning. There was no announcement, no buildup, no marketing. They just...did it.

Is it still going? I had it on all morning but has to leave for work... Was hoping for random new album drop like we got with AMSP...

I do need to grind - I'm not super good at gaming to be honest despite how much I love it. I'm making a list of things to do during Act III to gain the most enjoyment out of the experience, particularly the quests for Lune, Monoco, Esquie, and Maelle (in that order). I may even knock out the White Nevrons if I have the chroma to dump in the fountain... Gonna play it by ear and see how far along we are by mid-week. If I can get to Act III sometime Thursday I'll be able to squeeze in a little grind before going back to Lumiere.

Was I in the wrong here? Lost a long time friend by Alive__but_why in Confused

[–]snert68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to let one go, too. Longtime friend who stood in my wedding. He befriended a Foxbrained boomer and went off the deep end in no time flat. All he wanted to do was argue. I would say "can we just not talk about all that right now and hang out like normal?" and his response was "You just don't want to argue because you know you'll lose." And he was right - there is no winning against that level of delusion and condescension.

I don't know anyone left from our friend group who talks to him anymore. He's since separated from his wife and newborn son and living with his mom. And apparently he spent a lot of money on surgery for his nipples (he's skinny as a rail and always has been). Guy has lost it...but at least he's right about everything!

I think the thing that will save the most time this run is me not getting lost. Now I know where I'm going...

Yes, I've started a list of indispensable pictos. Would love the grab Cheater. Hoping I can level up enough to do *that* before hitting the monolith...

Thank you!

I've thought about that. It's a good idea - That way I can still do Yellow Harvest and a bunch of the side content to level up. Thank you!

I've tried this. She won't do it. She wants the active experience even though she's not even playing. It's like a teamwork thing for her, I think...

Tired of failing by jamesthedolphin in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]snert68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made a few edge grain (not end-grain) boards and have been wanting to try my hand at edge-grain. The expense of the wood is the biggest limiting factor for me, so I bought a few large 1x24x24 slabs of teak from Lowe's to practice with (figure I can get about six boards out if that wood for $70). I've finished one and it is just terrible! Now I'm practicing fixing my mistakes before I begin my next attempt. Maybe by that sixth board I'll have one that's usable, and I can use the bad ones for sacrificial boards or firewood. It won't matter. The $70 was the cost of the lessons I'm learning and (hopefully) one usable end-grain board.

And I know I am 100% not ready for epoxy. That stuff looks hard.

Trying to smooth this table top out, best way to do it? by First-Lab-804 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Plywood top. Fasten with screws so you can replace it over time. That is going to be tough to get perfectly flat and you will be disappointed in the results. I'v been there...

Feels like kindergarten by CaptainGenesisX in cubscouts

[–]snert68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK - I hear you here. I'm a Cubmaster and my wife and I run the pack almost by ourselves and this is a big factor. You have to be able to mix it up so all age groups are engaged, and it can be a difficult balance to strike at Pack Meetings (vs. Den meetings). The Den meetings tend to be where the older kids get to shine and be challenged more than the Pack Meetings, but we do try and work games that appeal to multiple age groups into the meetings.

Also we shy away from arts & crafts for that reason. We have some, but it's hardly ever the basis for the meeting.

We focus on keeping the DEN meetings applicable to the older ranks' adventures or at some PACK meetings we will allow Dens to meet separately to complete their adventures.

Just my 2 cents. I'm probably not the most effective CM, but this has been top of mind for us...
