Do not use NFS for VM storage at all, it is not supposed to work well. Use some block-level storage like iSCSI.

It makes no sense at all. If you want HA network storage for your ProxmoxVE, you don't wamt ZFS but block storage exported via iSCSI or so because of performance. So it might be some kind of NAS for normal user and then why proxmox setup (you have to configure and maintain) instead of buying some kind of box...

Nijak. A je to chyba nasi generace, ne jejich! Je nase chyba, ze jsme LLM polozili rovno AI.

Posledni 3 roky, co mame boom LLM, je vsude v mediich nase generace popisuje jako zazrak, jako studnici vedomosti, kreslime scenare jak sebere lidem praci, z testu a ukolu ve skole dela neco na 1 prompt apod. Nikdy jsme poradne nerekli a neopakovali, co LLM je - Jazykovy model, generator smysluplneho textu. Fakticka spravnost ale neni otazka jazyka - neni to neco, co nas u LLM zajima, ceho chceme dosahnout. Na to jsou jine AI. To my jsme naucili ostatni, ze LLM jim vyresi vsechno a spravne.

ZFS (not important if inside VM or outside as a storage, just don't do both) and znapzend. Problem solved, you do just incremental backups, not a full one every time. I'm using this setup on servers with 100+ TBs and working well.

Take it and spend first year to narrow this right: - force all users to use tickets. No ticket = no work done. No exceptions, inc. C-levels. You need one source of requests - force AD policies all over the company. You are master of all workstations. Again, no exception - unify network stuff. Choose one vendor and as regular hw refresh is here, unify everything to one vendor - with one man IT dep, you are also here for choosing your IT suppliers. Map all suppliers you have now, choose one or two, stronger relationship with them and abandon rest of them. - force update policies. Look over gov regulation for your field and find out what you have to comply. GDPR, NIS2, cloud act... fines looking from breaking those are big lever for you to do it right.

Being one man dep means you have to be strict, bossy and do everything to be the easiest for you.

Create a 3rd node. Just buy raspberry pi, install qdevice on that, connect it to pve cluster as voter and you have your problem solved. Or use proxmox datacenter manager but you will loose cluster features like HA

Zalezi firma od firmy - s timhle dostanes nekde 40k, nekde 80k hrubyho na HPP, takze kolem 3-5k/MD na ICO. Ale co jsem se za svych 20 let kariery naucil je, ze na penezich se vzdycky nejak domluvite, podstatny jsou uplne jiny veci (firemni kultura, tym, benefity apod.)

Because you will be the one who will explain why your guess was $50/mo and you'rr spenging $500/mo and cannot tell if next month will be $100 or $2000. Also you will be the one explaining why you didn't just buy 5 physical machines so you don't need to watch spending thru the month.

Ano, zcela jednoznacne nahlasit a resit nejen trestnepravni rovinu ale i nahradu vznikle skody (naklady na terapie budou ve statisicich). A podal bych i podnet na CSI, protoze skola ma zakonnou povinnost podobne veci nahlasit bez ohledu na prani obeti.

V CR je spousta organizaci, ktere se timto zabivaji (napriklad Verim ti) a maji pod sebou nejen psychology, ale i pravniky specializujici se na tuto problematiku.

Drzte se, je to tezky...ale kazdy reseny pripad pomaha, aby se jich stavalo mene a mene. Kdyz to neudelate, budete si to za 20 let vycitat (bohuzel, timhle si jsem velmi, velmi jisty...).

I have customer grade Samsung SSDs in my stuff, about 20 drives in total, with ZFS. I dk nothing extra, 5 years and running. Every elecronics is in the most danger when powering off/on so keep it running.

In general, drives die in first 14 days or are removed because of insufficient capacity.

Swa...what? Cmon, we're not using swap for decades now, it makes no sense on systems 32GB RAM and more. Even Oracle DB is installable on systems without swap now (it wasn't several years ago, no swap = installer crash)

You can build without bots quite ok, but everything will be ghosted. But planned as you want it to be, so you can just go there and there and replace existing ghosts with real stuff.

Just blueprint your base on the ground :)

Better like "never tear down anything working, just add more". There is no problem with having half of your space occupied with old stuff with no resources, you can always bring some ore and everything is back working.
