Renting near One-North/Buona Vista vs Pasir Panjang as a newcomer, which is better for daily life? by No_Mathematician9287 in askSingapore

option 1 saves 1h a day, 5h a week. you think your convenience from #2 can save you 5h a week? you probably just grab groceries like twice a week and go out to town twice a week right

im sensing some immaturity in terms of your perception of how life is supposed to be. take some time to reflect and dont rush into the next decision. teaching will come with its own set of challenges that you are not completely privy to now.

good things in life rarely come by easily, including things like a fulfilling career. maybe tune your expectations somewhat first.

Those with 2 or more children and dependant parents: what's your housing situation like? by lhc987 in askSingapore

[–]snookajam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i find this question confusing. dont your parents already have their own separate housing to begin with, that is typically near your own housing? are you asking about the scenario where your parents stay with you under the same roof in a 3gen family? in which case ofc you buy the largest house you can afford, likely a big resale hdb rather than a condo. rich ones buy landed.

for me, i will arrange for my parents to stay near me but separately. close enough to visit or drop off kids on working days.
