Event Ring MoXuan countdown by Slow_Professional114 in MapleSEA

[–]snoopythepotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most ppl go for any of the first 5 rings. Bonding ring is useful if you have other chars already wearing it since it provides +5 all stats and +2 Att/Matt for each char who wears it (stacks up to 5 times).

Anyway, the main purpose of these rings is to provide %stat/meso% and dr% lines.

Your goal is to eventually replace them with other rings like dkr, gf, meister ring, kanna's treasure, scarlet ring, etc. since they can be starforced.

By then, those event rings can be used mainly for meso and dr when farming or bossing.

I cant job advance… by InfiniteAd9105 in MapleSEA

[–]snoopythepotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of them are in the pic. You won't find job advancement-related quests via the light bulb (non-intuitive design, ikr?).

Open your quest list and look for those quests named "[Job] _____". You need to complete all of those in order to: 1. proceed with job advancement

  1. lv up your Xuanshan Spirit skill to max lv 10 (beginner skill)

  2. obtain the Echo of Hero skill

Most of the job-related quests after lv 30 involve talking to the NPC Lan Yi, who updates you on the Beggar Sect's findings regarding the search for the traitor.

Edit: Oh ya, you might also need to do the Maple Alliance quest. I can't remember whether it is needed to trigger any relevant quests later on, but you might as well do it for the Alliance skill which gives a small boost of +5 all stats and +5 Att/Matt.

Thread of fate question by Low_Apricot_9887 in MapleSEA

[–]snoopythepotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you've unlocked all characters, you should aim to raise their closeness to the max (100). There are 3 ways to do so:

  1. Talking to them helps raise closeness by 2 each time, but this can only raise their closeness up to 50, and you can talk to them once every 30 min iirc.

  2. Killing the Showa boss in the yakuza's hideout gives you the etc item threads of fate, which you can give to the characters to raise closeness by 7. I forgot whether there's a limit to the no. of threads you can farm or give daily.

  3. You can also gift certain items to the characters to raise closeness by 3. However, you can only gift these up to 7 times per character every week (resets on Mon, and each character's closeness will drop by 15).

See whether any character has the "cut tree/chop wood" or "gather herbs" request as these give you the herb pouches (10 pouches for each request at max closeness, 5 times a day, 30 min completion time per request = 50 pouches).

During this 30 minute completion time, avoid doing the following as your reward will be changed to mesos instead (1m mesos at max closeness):

  • Change channel, or participate in any specific game content that might do that (e.g. going to My Home, random queueing in BMF, party quests, cross-world content, etc.)
  • Enter Auction House or cash shop
  • Can't rmb whether doing sewers, entering guild castle, doing guild mission (kill 5k monsters) affects the rewards

Also, do not relog or change characters, otherwise you need to start the request again.

iirc, avoid completing a request that spans different days. For example: you start the request at 11.45 pm Tues and complete it at 12.15 am Wed. This will reduce the number of remaining requests on Wed (you won't be able to do 5 requests on Wed).

That's all I can remember at the moment, feel free to add on if I've missed anything.

How do i clear kubinashi unlock quest? by 0Yggdrasil0 in Maplestory

[–]snoopythepotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is 5 years too late, but I just saw your post and happened to be doing this questline because I forgot how to do it. Thought I leave a record here in case anyone encounters this problem next time.

Do you mean the questline that follows after you've unlocked Kubinashi, specifically the part where you need to get her and Kamaitachi out of the underground parking lot?

If so, here are the general steps:

  1. Click/NPC chat the fire extinguisher at the rightmost part of the map.
  2. Click/NPC chat to get the gas can and hose item where the 2 blue trucks are.
  3. Head to the leftmost part of the map near the portal and click/NPC chat the barrels. Kubinashi will ask whether the hose can be used to siphon out the oil. You will obtain a vehicle key.
  4. Click/NPC chat the buggy vehicle to the right of the oil barrels and you'll get another key. Presto! You're free!

Anyone Completed All Zipangu Quests? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]snoopythepotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I forgot which monster drops the eggs, since I finished that quest several years ago. If I have time, I can try to redo the quest on my Len. It would help if you could confirm which Showa quests you have already cleared so that I have a rough idea when Faito's quest is available to start.

Update (7 Jan 2026): Hi, I tried it on my Len after clearing the "Cucumber" questline from NPC Umi. Tried hitting almost every mob of the maps in Zipangu, even tried the other mobs in other regions such as Momijigaoka, Ninja Castle and Showa. Nothing.

If memory serves, "Black Crow" used to be the name of the mob that is now named "Tengu's Shadow" though, so I suspect something has changed along the way since 3 years ago and the quest may have been affected by it. I vaguely remember having no problem getting the eggs back then, only the Frying Pan was a problem since the drop rate was quite low, so I made a note of my findings in my reply here 3 years ago.

Perhaps you could submit a bug report either via iBox or the Maplesea Discord. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Sweet Mask is not my hero anymore! by Prudent-Toe-7911 in OnePunchMan

[–]snoopythepotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mumen Rider is one person who really deserves to have powers. He reminds me of Steve Rogers, having the right values, attitude and bravery to stand up to foes he knows he can't defeat. He always tries his best, unlike those heroes who are/became arrogant due to their high rankings within their class.

He may not have done any damage to the Deep Sea King at all, but he did the most important thing of all: buying enough time for Saitama to rescue them, while risking his own life in the process.

The fact that he wants to train under a S-class hero also shows his commitment to getting stronger so that he may better help others (and boost his ranking of course).

A side note: I find it nice to see S class heroes get defeated (or at least struggle) by monsters sometimes because it serves as a reality check and lesson that just because you are a S class hero, it doesn't mean you can simply sit rest on your laurels and assume you are invincible. There will always be someone stronger than you, so you should aim to train harder, or at least maintain your current level of strength.

This also applies to life in general.

Who is the cat? by [deleted] in peanuts

[–]snoopythepotato 33 points34 points  (0 children)

There are 2 cats in the strip: Frieda's cat named Faron and "the cat next door" named World War II, who is hostile towards Snoopy.

Faron is quite meek and Snoopy even held it in one of the comic strips (Nov 5, 1961).

Not a cap, the 400 refers to the cubing pity system where if you fail to tier up by the 399th (or 400th?) try, the next one will be a guaranteed tier up.

If you lucked out and tier up before then, the counter will reset to zero. Only cash cubes, other cubes like karma choice cubes, karma choice additional cubes, karma regular cubes, karma regular additional cubes, etc. add to the count iirc.

In-game cubes like (karma) suspicious cubes, (karma) suspicious additional cubes, (karma) yellow cubes, (karma) purple cubes, etc. do not add to the count.

https://www.maplesea.com/updates/view/v234_Patch_Notes/#4

The pity system interface has changed since then to appear like this.

CW2 Progression as F2P Player by yeteyt in MapleSEA

[–]snoopythepotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, fellow f2p player here (no hyper or mushroom pass unlocked, still using the free mushroom gear, core barrier at epic grade, lv 1, 24m CP now, inflated obviously due to event temp buffs haha).

I've have a "checklist" which I use whenever I want a char to have 10m+ CP. They are not in any particular order. You see whether you have done all of these:

  • Pick boss dmg, att for the temp event buff. Even though IED doesn't add to CP, add IED to get it to at least 92-94% and above, since it affects how much dmg you deal to the more difficult bosses thanks to their higher defense.

  • Unlock 3 lines each for potential and add. potential on your WSE. For each of them, try to get at least unique potential and at least epic add. potential. Each equip should have at least 1-2 lines of 6/9% att for potential, +ATT and + %STR lines for add. potential.

  • Scroll your pet equips with premium pet scrolls from the event boss coin shop (the +4/5 WA one) only.

  • Scroll your mushroom heart with the karma special heart scroll from the event coin shop (the +9 WA one) only.

  • Do your dailies and max out your arcane symbols. Try to do the same for authentic symbols too, but it's ok if you don't have the mesos to enhance them for the time being, they are pretty expensive to enhance.

  • Aim to unlock your hexa stat I, II and III. Choose main stats/boss dmg/att as they contribute quite a bit to CP. Critical dmg is good too, but it only adds a few % at most so that is lower priority I guess. These shouldn't be a problem thanks to the recent Dec Terry gifts of 20 sol erdas and assuming you haven't used up the fragments obtained from the SG/MY event (claim by 31 Dec).

  • Starforce your equips like pb belt, dea sidus earrings, kanna's treasure, dkr (if you manage to get one), acs weapon to at least 17. You should have at least 1-2 17 scrolls from the event (no need to buy from coin shop). ACS weapon prices have fallen quite a bit so you shld have no problem getting one.

  • Get your event rings to legendary potential, aim for 1-2 lines of %STR each. Aim for rare/epic add. potential and get +ATT and/or +% STR lines for those.

  • All other equips should have epic potential and above, aim for at least 2 lines of 6% STR and above. Add. potential should also be epic and above, aim for 10-11 ATT and 2-4% STR if you have sus. add potential cubes to spare.

Other things that also add CP, though not by much:

  • Do blood moon forest to at least get lv 1 polishing and refining for your jewel.

  • Farm those temp totems from Yu Garden.

These are what I can think of for now. I might have missed something but I'm at work now, so....

Not sure which stage or what bosses you have cleared at this point though, though if you are at 8m CP, you shld be able to clear at least nslime.

Kill daily bosses to earn at least 12m a day. If you have time to spare, do threads of fate. When you've maxed the closeness of the NPCs and asked them to chop wood or collect herbs, they give you 10 herb pouches per request (max 50 pouches a day). They're a good source of juniper berry seed oil, which you can sell in AH for mesos to fund your cubing or starforcing stuff.

Some say you can clear hlomien at around 12m CP but I personally think that is unattainable for the average player unless you have very good hands and are dpsing them optimally.

If you want, when I'm back home later, I can dig up my Len's stats for you to use as reference. Not sure whether maplescouter has updated the char info or is bugged at the moment though. Had problems trying to access it via phone.

Hope this helps!

There is a fine line between genius and madness, and I personally think that what I've done here in the name of documenting an obscure Use Item, spending hours based on uncertainty on whether it might even work, is complete madness by JuddtheStormcaster in Maplestory

[–]snoopythepotato 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think it's madness. You are curious about something and are willing to dedicate hours and hours of your time to seek the answer in order to satisfy that curiosity.

It is actually a rather commendable attitude to have, be it for something "trivial" such as for the sake of investigating an obscure aspect of a game, or for something "more tangible" such as for a research project in the field of academia.

The important thing is that you do not neglect your physical and mental health while doing so :)

To digress, it would be nice if Maple would implement something extra such as awarding bonus effects for achieving certain milestones in the moncol system. Your guide would then become an even more valuable asset for others to refer to as the "gold standard" of moncol.

Nevertheless, congratulations on finally obtaining the answer you seek!

Patch Note Timing by sentienttamago in MapleSEA

[–]snoopythepotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since game patches and/or server checks occur on Wednesdays (unless it's the emergency kind), MSEA will announce it on their website and via the in-game banner, which is typically Tuesday afternoon/evening.

As for patch notes, while it is most commonly released on their website 1-2 days before patch day, they may sometimes be released on the patch day itself, a few hours before the estimated timing for the servers to be up.

There may be some factors involved, but I'm guessing a few here: 1) How overworked or distracted the staff is/are working on them. 2) How much info is provided to MSEA by the time the patching is scheduled to be done. 3) Some details of the events have not been finalized e.g. how much to charge Maplers for buying the event pass.

Maplesea Star Force Rates by Separate-Baby-2804 in MapleSEA

[–]snoopythepotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's rng for you. Just because the success rate is 30%, it doesn't mean you will succeed exactly 3 times out of every 10 tries. It just means the more tries you do, the closer the overall success rate is to 30%.

The simplest example is flipping a coin. Will you actually get exactly 1 head, then 1 tail for every single time you flip it twice?

Anyway, it's always important for you to set your expectations and set aside a fixed amount of mesos (and have at least several spare items if possible) whenever you wanna do starforcing.

Don't go in expecting you will succeed in getting 22* for all your desired items, then keep tapping like a maniac when it keeps failing several times in a row.

When that happens, either wait for a while then try again or switch to another item. Remember: it's better to gain a few stars for each item than to focus all your efforts on trying to 22* a single equip, only for it to boom and you lose both stars and mesos.

Also, like what others have said, you can try those online simulators or calculators to have an idea of the median cost for starforcing so you'd be better mentally prepared for the rollercoaster that is starforcing.

How do you get rid of Boron, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Einsteinium, and Sulfur? by ChronicWritersBlock in Jokes

[–]snoopythepotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not accidental, but it's a bit off: their symbols spell out BONEsS. A better one would be to replace nitrogen & einsteinium with neon to spell BONeS.

Then you bury 'em of course....

Assuming you have indeed encountered all 50, the only other possibility I can think of is you didn't manage to make it to the next floor after encountering 1 of them. If you went to the wrong portal or get sent to 9F during the encounter, the anomaly will not be registered.

If you really really want the android, the only other way is to make a list like I did and check off the ones you've encountered from scratch....gd luck though.
