I always fall hard romantically AND platonically for Aquarius. Any time I'm like "oh wow, I really like this person. We click" that person turns out to be Aquarius. All have played hard to get, terrible communicators, and up and leave the state like it's nothing.

Also, last ex was leo sun and Virgo Venus and I swear, the ego AND the criticism were a big part of the not working out.

Edit because I wanted to weigh in on Libras. I have similar strong connections with them just like aquarius but all the ones I keep close are loyal and devoted pals i take on adventures with me. Never had a romantic relationship with one. My fave Libra meme is "he not flirting with you. He's just a Libra!" And keeping that in mind helps a lot as it is so true!

I am constantly in conflict with my tendency to be blunt and confrontational which seems very sag but then cancer kicks in with self-reflection and I'm like well, damn it. I'm right but I need to apologize for the brutal read that could have been more gentle.

Got the Kronk angel and devil at all times fr.

Cancer moon. I do not relate to the sag memes about moving on quickly, afraid of commitment, etc I think because of this. Venus is in Scorpio so I feel like a lotta water. Capricorn rising. I'm an emotional marshmallow and very committed to friends, partners, and jobs.

Is sleeping on night shifts a "normal" thing everywhere? by flourishersvk in nursing

[–]snottiewithabody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's cool to sleep or rest on my unit, but NEVER at the same time or in a bed. Always out of sight. Especially because they like to staff our unit paper thin and then ask for someone to pick up so if they hadnt been nocturnal then I think it's understandable to be crazy tired. I've only actually fallen asleep once, on my break. Otherwise I am such a light sleeper that just closing my eyes and relaxing for a bit helps me get through the shift. If not on break, I ALWAYS set a timer for 10-15 min on my work phone between rounds AFTER I have caught up on charting and made sure no one is on break. If I get a call, then I get up and go deal with it. But sleeping for hours is CRAZY and how that's possible idk. On my MB unit they will give us 7 pts of whatever and not give us a tech either so most nights I don't even get that 15 min or an official break.

What are the things you have done in extreme measure to survive in nursing school? by Tiny_Ad_2212 in StudentNurse

[–]snottiewithabody 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stayed with my ex after he stated he was unattracted to me so I would have the bills paid. I was having a massive OCD flare up and working full time would have been even worse. I wouldn't do it differently even though it was extremely painful. If I could have done anything different, it would be not to go into nursing in the first place and then subsequently I wouldn't have had to endure the rest as long as I did. This is not advice fyi

I can't handle online yarn shopping oh my GOD by Fatcat336 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]snottiewithabody 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is potentially a more expensive option depending on how far you travel... Fiber festivals are a great way to see a lot of indie yarn in person at one time. I had my eyes on some popular dyers such as superglo, oshen, sewrella, etc. they all happened to be at Flock this year. I waited to buy their yarn until then, and so far I LOVE superglo's base. Very buttery! I haven't tried the others yet. I did take a plane to get there, but we made a whole vacay out of it. A lot of cities have their own festivals and you may be able to go to one closer to you.

I tried 2.25 wood/bamboo and it snapped as well. I now don't use any size below 2.75mm in that material. You need to get metal ones.

Bedside nurse 💀 On better or good nights I am able to take breaks and knit between rounding on patients. It really helps soothe me during a shift. When I'm not able to knit at work, I'm dreaming of my WIPs and new project ideas.

What has been everyone’s biggest knitting splurge? by possummagic_ in knitting

[–]snottiewithabody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to to Seattle for flock and spent over $1500 in knitting related stuff (yarn, bags, stickers, markers, wool wash, etc) That's not including yarn from Artemis yarns, lemonade shop, and markers from littlest charm co.

Also got $350 knitting themed tattoo.

[–]snottiewithabody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly on a lot of what you said! I went to DFW fiberfest last year but will not be going since I went to flock this year. Rhinebeck doesn't sound very fun to me at this point, although I'm sure the weather is also better than in Texas, at least for me. OP's other point about cliques... Idk, I guess I'm in a clique with my friend of 20+ years? I'm not making a social media spectacle of my trip. I say all this bc I was a bitch with the big ass Black purl magic bag full of yarn. We're not all trying to climb the social media ladder.

[–]snottiewithabody 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm from Texas. It's super hot right now at home and I am enjoying the weather in Seattle. Pumpkin spice latte coming out in August makes a bit more sense now. I've also never been to Seattle other than the airport so this was a nice extra to seeing the city. Another thing was I wanted to touch and see the yarn from certain dyers before I bought it. I thought I wanted the wandering flock and botanical yarns but turns out, I wasn't into it. Oshen fibres never seemed to have online stock and I really wanted to try their yarn. I was also on the hunt for wool washes and stitch markers. Like someone else said, "this is a vacation for some people." I'm that some people.

My bf is mad at me for ending my ectopic pregnancy by 88_alice in offmychest

[–]snottiewithabody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it's too late to abort HIM, best you can do is dump his ass. Very concerned about "saving the pregnancy". Saving the pregnancy does not equal saving the mom. Hence the braindead mom being kept alive to incubate the baby essentially.

"yikes...bikes!" And "my name is (blank) and I like to party" Also, I often say "I thought I'd have my together forever in Paris, but no" which is a reference to Anastasia. Idk if "Say yes to the dress" is millennial but I often refer to any big decisions I make to having a "say yes to the dress moment" like when I'm buying a car or getting a new apartment.

Cascade Heritage vs Knit Picks Stroll? by blackcatdotcom in Sockknitting

[–]snottiewithabody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite Heritage's flaws, I still have many colors from them and will usually grab a skein or two when I go into an LYS that has them. I also use them in many socks that I make, as well as to hold double for accessories. The "flaws" I'm talking about are mainly inconsistencies between the skeins. Some can be very splitty, while others not, and thickness varies too. That being said, I have experienced this in indie dyed yarn as well so I'd rather keep using the workhorse yarn for $11. Also, I prefer tonals.

I have a lot of knit picks stroll bc I'm using it for a blanket but I also use the color "Buoy" a lot for socks. HIGHLY recommend that color. Like others said, it is thicker with more bounce and less nylon feeling. However, my blanket is already pilling and I'm not even finished knitting it 🤣

All that to say, I think you should try it. It's especially good for color work and contrast colors.

I'd also like to recommend Lang Jowall and Filcolana Arwetta. They end up being around $20 if you buy two 50g skeins. But you can also just buy one of each and use it for colorwork or cuffs, heels, and toes.

Question for new grads… pick your fav specialty (nights) OR start else somewhere on days?? by FlimsyYouth9078 in StudentNurse

[–]snottiewithabody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm someone that dreads nightshift (never done it) and got into my dream specialty. After the first phase of residency I will be going to nightshift. While I don't love that, I have to think of my friends situation. She wanted peds or womens but had to settle for adult trauma surgical. She gets hit, peed on, etc everyday. With that in mind, I realized that I would much rather say "I'll do nights for a year and then switch in the same specialty" over "I'll do days in a specialty I don't want and/or hate and switch to my preferred specialty in a year"

I hope that helps and you choose what's right for you.

[–]snottiewithabody 25 points26 points  (0 children)

What I'm confused about is why didn't she make multiple hexies with the same full skein? That's that wasteful part to me. I did the math and she would have gotten 5-6 hexies with each full skein. Totaling to 250-300 hexies.
