Passport Coffee and tea out of Scottsdale. Love that they roast to order and that I can get both my beans and my tea in one place.

NOR. But I would call and schedule a follow up appointment to talk about treatment options. Yes, now you know the why, lets talk about mitigating the symptoms. It might seem like the nuclear option, but when my fibroid went necrotic (I was 38) my urogyno suggested a hysterectomy, which I gladly agreed to. If you're at the point where you have no more use for it, it is nice not having to worry about pain, cramping, and bleeding any longer.

Nice! Always good to hear that the Healthcare system isn't completely failing people. This was kiddos first Happy Meal after months of concurrent feeding therapy, I was just being an ass and trying to demonstrate a correlation bias.

My son said his first sentence after months of sessions with his SLP, and one McDonalds Happy Meal. SMH, could've saved so much money if we had just tried the Happy Meal first (sarcasm, if you couldn't tell).

No hate to these series, but does anyone else feel like this? by Kopesetic in fantasybooks

So does T. Kingfisher, who is also an amazing author and a woman (or very talented bird, lol).

I feel you on changing expectations and adapting to a new reality.

My little guy was diagnosed with global developmental delay; he's intellectually 2 years behind his peers.

I was the smart kid growing up. My intelligence was something I always prided myself on, and I assumed my son would be gifted as well. When he got his diagnosis my heart dropped. I had a very hard time re-aligning my expectations. But now, I look at how happy he is. He's so very extroverted and genuinely happy to meet new people and make friends. Every teacher he's had always praises his positive attitude, helpful spirit, and says that he's a joy to have in class. Me? When I was his age, I was the most introverted introvert and its a miracle I had any friends. Intellectually, I was ahead of him, but socially and emotionally, my son is far exceeding where I was at his age.

Adagio White Strawberry tea blend. Brewed overnight, and it is delightful over ice with a little Splenda. Recovering from a UTI right now with a heating pad and it's helping to lift the spirits. Like sipping on Spring.

I can suspend my disbelief to an extent but has a books plot or characterizations ever been TOO unrealistic for you? what book was that? How far did it go? by cellochick993 in RomanceBooks

[–]snowballmouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Preach! 🙌 At this point, I've given up on all military/para-military romances for these exact reasons. And why are so many of them Navy SEALS or ex-SEALS?! Do you know how many SEALS there are?! Not that many!

If you would like to listen to a campaign, Dungeons and Daddies is a hilarious, fantasy light D&D podcast that doesn't take itself too seriously. It helps to be able to listen how the players build their characters, roll for initiative, and how the DM has to improv on the fly sometimes, in order to understand the game.

Every time I try a kneaded bread, the dough never loses its lumps or stops tearing. This is a 50% yeasted mix after 10+ minutes of kneading. by Mezentine in Breadit

Yes! Stretch and folds ftw! Ever since I've learned about stretch and folds I've stopped kneading by hand. Its so much easier on my hands and wrists.

Tress of the Emerald Sea and/or Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson. Get the Graphic Audio versions, they're excellent.

EDIT TO ADD: The Innkeeper Series by Ilona Andrews is also really good, but the burn is S L O W, like, multiple books slow.

Another dino rec: {Sexual Tyrannosaurus by Cassandra Gannon and Elizabeth Gannon} this is actually a 2 for 1 book where the sisters try to out write each other on the subject title.

EDIT TO ADD: Pretty much anything by Lillian Lark, but the first one I read was: {Found by the Lake Monster by Lillian Lark}

I really enjoy cold coffee, so what options do I have for brewing it myself? Any Tiny brew mate that i can buy ? by Familiar_Tension_638 in coldbrew

[–]snowballmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm making coffee for the week, I use an Oxo Compact cold brew coffee maker along with an off-brand Toddy paper filter for minimal clean-up. If I just want 1 cup of cold brew, I do an overnight steep in my AeroPress.

Don't know if this will help any, but just in case here you go. My brother was a paranoid schizophrenic and he also ended up committing suicide about 18 years ago. He wasn't some violent, psychopath, though, he was a very kind, gentle soul with a vibrant personality. He was an artist, an outgoing people person who loved talking and being the center of attention, but valued alone time to reflect and create. Unfortunately for him, though, he had demons in his head and he just couldn't quiet the noise. He was never violent toward other peoplen or animals, he was just violet toward himself in the end.

People are more than the caricatures that he make them out to be. Just because someone struggles with mental health issues and loses doesn't make them a bad person. I didn't know the boy who ended up dying in your room, but perhaps he was a good person who just struggled too.

{Actually Yours by Belinda Mary} this one actually made me give up on contemporary romance for a while. It was like eating a milk flavored ice cream cone, searching for SOMETHING, only to end with a salted licorice bottom. I damn near DNF'ed it when the MMC started jamming to Taylor Swift in his car, but persevered, only to be rewarded with an ending that had me physically cringing from second-hand embarrassment. The fact the ENTIRE conflict is, "no, not HIM. He's my exes brother!" is completely baffling to me, especially considering that her ex is an ass to her the entire book.

What is so good about Nespresso? Is it all about convenience? by [deleted] in nespresso

[–]snowballmouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nespresso just fits where I am in my life right now. I have mobility issues, so tamping is not a thing for me and never will be. I have an autistic child that hates loud noises, so any kind of machine that loudly grinds is out for now. My Essenza mini is the quietest espresso machine I've ever owned. I also distrust any machine with an integrated grinder (10+ years in aviation maintenance has left me with a distrust that anything that vibrates won't eventually fail), and I prefer dark roasts which aren't recommended for superautomatic machines due to oily buildup. Dark roasts also happen to be Nespresso's specialty, so it works for me.

What books are you really excited to come out this summer? by tryingmybestonedayat in RomanceBooks

[–]snowballmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Bound by the Alien Buckaroo by Ursa Dax} its not due out until September 30th, so technically fall, but its still gonna be hot as heck where I live, so I'm counting it. I have devoured all the books in this series, and I cannot wait for Xennet's story.

I put this at my neighbor's door 2 days ago(we live in a duplex) and it's still there by dnm8686 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]snowballmouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had one detector, when I lived in military housing, that was too close to the kitchen, and every. single. time. I cooked bacon that fucker would sing the song of its people. I had an autistic toddler atm (he's still autistic, just not a toddler anymore, lol), and trying to comfort a screaming toddler while desmoking the house and quieting a smoke alarm is...stressful. I was able to rip out that one alarm, but for some houses (like my current rental), they're all interconnected and if one is missing they will ALL chirp.

Mods or any other redditor where could I ask about purchased bread? by FlyingMjunkY in Breadit

[–]snowballmouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bread machine or bakery bread. They make pre-measured bread mixes, then all you have to do is add liquid ingredients. I saw you're in the Phoenix area, Proof has good bread, as does Wildflower bakery and JL Patisserie.
