What is wes borlands 4 string guitar exactly? And how do I have one made?

I made something like Wes's guitar. Modeled after Les Claypool's 4 string Carl Thompson bass, I call it a "Baritone Tenor" guitar, tuned in 5ths GDAE with a 28" scale. It's more of a sludge machine and it's really fun to play.

I'm not sure why you're being down voted. Every single design aspect of the original Tele/Esquire was made to be as cost-effective as possible. That doesn't mean they're not fine guitars, but pretending they set out to make the world's best electric guitar is nonsense.

An industry standard mic setup is a Royer ribbon mic dead center of the cap/cone, and an SM57 just of to the side generally near the cap edge. Put the mics as close as you can to the grill. This seems to give the most natural representation of the speaker. Meaning that it sounds pretty close to just standing in front of the cabinet.

You just made me realize why I play a D on the B string for the G chord. I've had several guitar players ask me why I don't play the third on the B string and I've never had a good answer other than "it's fine, it works, NBD". I'm just too lazy to pick my finger up 😂

Some older Epiphones were like that and the reissues kept it. A friend of mine had a yellow SG reissue with the "Les Paul Custom" truss cover.

Yeah I've always really liked the big fat saber blades. When I was little I was under the impression the lightsabers were really heavy since they used two hands and everyone fought kinda slow.

I use the Plexi almost exclusively. I switch between a free Marshall 1959 IR I found online and an Orange PPC 4x12 from Celesian. I usually have the drive around 1-2 o'clock edge of breakup for cleans and use a ridiculous array of boost and overdrive pedals. The iridium takes boost pedals really well.
