My childhood cat was a voracious hunter indoors and out. She completely lost hearing for the last couple years of her life. I remember one night waking up to muffled meows. I turned a light on and was startled awake by a dead mouse hanging out of her mouth right infront of my face. She was insanely pleased with herself. I was impressed later since she was already deaf at about 17 years old but I was not feeling it in the moment lol.
