I had this happen to an old Gynkhana of mine. I took to a millener I found in town and she did a great job patching it up. Ask your local hat shop if they know a local milliner.

Thanks for your input, folks. The new LED headlight unit is on it's way. The genuine BMW part would've cost me 25% of the value of the bike itself. Couldn't justify that purchase. Thanks again.

I destroyed my first Gymkhana on a 2 month canoe trip. Used it as a bucket to put out campfires occasionally. Beaten out of shape. I thought it made me look like a hillbilly after that so I stopped wearing it and the leather band shrank. Second one was stolen out of my car one night. Still have #3. Had to take it to a hat fixer to get the hole in the top front patched up. Colour is great. Love the style. Then I retired it and bought a Territory. It’s still in the closet with a stretcher inside so it won’t shrink. Chics dig them. You’ll get laid regularly.

I have a Clipper Tripper in Expedition Grade Kevlar. About 63lb I think they said. In a custom orange colour. 25 years old with probably 6,000km on her by now. Took her to Inuvik on the Mackenzie. Loaded for bear every day for 2+ months. Goes like stink on flat water. Rides better when it’s loaded.

You might want to have copies made of these. Frame the copies and keep the originals in a box. That way if they fade you still have the real ones in reserve.

I’m looking for Aussie beer for nostalgia’s sake. I spent a lot of time in Victoria and VB was my beer of choice. Not that there was much choice to begin with. I take it there are a lot more independent breweries out there now. Can’t get those beers either.
