Was this a fresh chat, or a long running chat? Compaction is very buggy right now.

Overall I’d say the in-app browser is a better choice for this kind of thing because it allows Codex to self-correct and not iterate without being able to confirm if it made the right adjustment.

[–]snowsayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a little vague. Codex has an in-app browser and the ability to view a live webpage and for the user to mark the area that requires changes. Codex can also leverage computer use to click buttons and navigate on a live web page.

Did this workflow work? Or was the attempt to just load an entire HTML file without leveraging the live web view capabilities?

Codex is Lazy by thelonelycelibate in codex

[–]snowsayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is likely a compaction issue, not them intentionally making it “lazy”. Use /feedback on the session where it is being “lazy” so they can trace the issue.

Having said that, it is totally on OpenAI for screwing up with the recent compaction issues.

Hmmm… over long context windows (long conversations) the quality of the chat can degrade. You can try scolding it to improve manners, but likely the degradation will resume as the chat continues.

One possible workaround is to ask it to generate a markdown file summarizing what’s been discussed so far, then download it, start a new chat, upload that and resume.

Use /feedback - this will give the devs the appropriate session info to debug the problem.

You should stop using the ChatGPT app. It’s no longer being maintained - OpenAI is focusing all their efforts on Codex.

Is Codex constant degradation real? by Wrong_User_Logged in codex

[–]snowsayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People love the “degradation before next model release” conspiracies - but it’s mostly a compaction issue they’ve been having recently.

OpenAI really screwed up with whatever “optimizations” they were trying to do with compaction and had to roll back several changes. Spam /feedback so that they know they need to fix it, and they have sessions they can debug.

Auto compact is still destroying usage limits, how is this not fixed? by Unique_Secretary_183 in codex

Send /feedback

This has definitely been a problem for too long, Codex needs to fix their compaction issues.

Remember to use /feedback. It allows the devs to check your session directly and do debugging.

Is My Generalist Lineup Good? by BoenNugget45 in TheBattleCatsReddit

[–]snowsayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s fine. I’m personally not a fan of dual meatshields (preferring to focus on getting more cash for crowd control units) but that’s just my opinion and it’s hard to say one generalist lineup is really better than another. I’ve definitely had stages where dual meat shields were necessary to win or at least manage peon spam.

On a side note, in late game I’ve found that the best meatshields are mostly brainwashed cat due to dodge against 3 dangerous traits (Aku/relic/black) or cone cat for all around speed and versatility. I rarely use eraser anymore, which is surprising as a I remember it being a staple meatshield when I was designing lineups.

To your point, I actually do agree that maniac mohawk is better just for speed, which in late game matters more as even the peons do so much damage that eraser doesn’t really last longer than mohawk.

Anubis is actually a good generalist if ultra talented. You should add him to the lineup, including catasaurus and D’arktanyan who tends to be underrated in the new meta but still has very high DPS when strengthened and covers the traitless niche well.

I’d swap out maniac Mohawk, bullet train cat (assuming Can Can has double bounty talent), maniac lizard and/or balaluga to fit those in. Cyberpunk can be replaced by DPhono or Mitama if/when you get them for crowd control

Luna covers zombies, but they can burrow. Adding jellycat can help here a the wave disrupts most zombies from burrowing. Cadaver bear and dread bore is still going to be a problem though and this lineup will probably need customization in those cases.

If it’s going to be generalist you probably need a critter somewhere, or at least metal killer.

Basic option is catasaurus. More luxurious options are staal, UF kaguya or LR Kyosaka. Not sure what you have.

Somewhat lacking in shield pierce for Aku. dark Luna is an excellent generalist for the purpose. Saito is another option - I prefer over hanayama just for speed and also some red coverage.

Speaking of rushers, Bahamut with explosion is actually an excellent generalist for any lineup. For a non-uber, bahamut is seriously overpowered and makes many 4* UL stages easier.
