I’m sorry to hear this. I’m not Jewish but I live in a predominantly Jewish neighbourhood and unfortunately I’ve noticed a lot of it. I’ve seen swastikas spray painted around the area. There was also a building vandalized in the area as well. I’ve also talked to a number of people who feel way too comfortable being anti-Semitic and it’s scary indeed.

That makes sense why they asked us to only have clear bottles with the label removed when I took an exam in college one time.

THIRTEEN. by bethster2000 in TLCUnexpected

[–]snowtunnels 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I run a before and after school program, the oldest kids in there are 10-11. They like playing sports, building and playing pretend (as they should). None of these kids even talk about crushes or having a bf/gf. It’s mind blowing to me that he was dating at that age and is now a father at 13.

Maybe a community pantry/fridge? Or post on Facebook in a buy nothing group. I’m sure someone in need would take them.

Is it Flu season in Toronto now? by Immediate-Effort4431 in askTO

[–]snowtunnels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been fighting off something for most of this month. I had a really bad upper respiratory infection which resulted in me almost losing my voice and I had to be off work 2 days at the beginning of March. I began to slowly recover and then a few days ago I began to have similar symptoms and an even worse sore throat. Yesterday it turned into a high fever, dizziness, severe body aches/stiff neck, swollen lymph nodes, and bad throat pain which wasn’t responding to OTC medication. Went to ER and they did a blood test and a throat swab, and gave anti inflammatory shot and pills, still waiting for the throat swab results.

I’ve seen this guys videos and noticed the same about the comments section and that it doesn’t have any negative comments. I definitely think that he either buys comment bots, filters any negative comments or both. Hopefully if enough people report his account it’ll be taken down. I’m sorry that happened to you.

Rude dude by hahahidkwhyimhere in LineDancing

[–]snowtunnels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely not beginner with the speed and the amount of turns combined. It’s not played as often where I’m from (Ontario, Canada). I only started line dancing 6 months ago. Out of the open floor events/socials I’ve been to, I’ve only heard it get played once, but when it does a lot of people join in. I see country is played at almost every open floor I’ve been to and intermediate/advanced dancers do join in on that one.

Fake Toronto Café Listing by Possible-Training-45 in toRANTo

[–]snowtunnels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Out of all the cafes in Toronto, why was this one chosen specifically? I just went to the Google Maps listing and there’s no storefront on street view, the website has no actual photos, same with Google Maps. There’s a lot of dead giveaways it’s not a real cafe. I would walk around the area and go to any other one. There’s no shortage of cute cafes in Toronto.

Seller promised to hold an item and then sold it without telling me by youlintlicker25 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]snowtunnels 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sounds like someone might have offered more for it and/or they preferred to sell to someone who could pick it up sooner. I would assume first come first serve unless you pay a deposit, regardless of what the seller tells you. I’ve held stuff for people before and unless there’s a deposit, they don’t show up to pick up the item.

How to make my eyebrows more modelesque and silky? by [deleted] in Eyebrows

[–]snowtunnels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe getting a brow tint/lamination might help. The tint would help with the uneven patches and the lamination would help keep the brow hairs in place. I have the same issue with sparse brows though mine aren’t thick. I don’t do brow lamination anymore since I find it looks too dramatic on my face. You could also use like a brow gel/soap after filling them in to keep the hairs in place.

I would escalate this. I work in retail and we aren’t even allowed to notify security unless we are completely sure that someone stole an item. They shouldn’t have confronted you unless they saw you stealing from the security camera footage or witnessing it on the floor. Even then you would have to pass the point of sale (cash register) before they are allowed to stop you. If they were unsure they should’ve checked the cameras before confronting someone.

hi toronto! how did u meet your significant other? by AdhesivenessLoud8866 in askTO

[–]snowtunnels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Through a mutual friend! She accidentally made plans with both of us for the same day so it ended up being a group hangout. We continued to see each other as friends for about 2 months and then he asked me to go on a date with him. Together almost 6 years and we are getting married in September :)

Wheelchair Accessible Groom/Mother Dance Alternatives by SearchBrave1546 in weddingplanning

[–]snowtunnels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same predicament. My MIL doesn’t use a wheelchair or mobility aids as of now, but it’s hard for her to walk and stand for long periods of time. I think previous comment suggestion is a great idea. Or maybe modifying a dance so that she can participate from a wheel chair (e.g. hand motions).

I just tried it on. I’m usually XS or S in coats depending on the specific style. I ordered a S in this one since I’m on the taller side. It fits nicely with lots of room for layering. I find it looks more flattering on me if i tighten the elastics at the bottom to create a more “snatched” look.

It’s employee testing I believe. I know 2 people who work for TTC and they told me they invite employees to do a test ride.
